2024 tOSU Spring Practices and Game (April 13)

Relax

"Ground Nolan" was only my way of saying that the kid ran the ball

I do wonder if they gave Air Nolan a ground heavy offense as part of the overall plan for 2024. Like if we got into a Cotton Bowl situation or emergency #3 QB situation, it might be best to get a QB with very good legs in and try to grind out a game that way. Sayin or whoever is #3 QB won't have many if any reps with the first team. Having someone who can run and you've built up the playbook of running plays with him can be an offense that still moves the ball.

Sometimes it's better to get that willing running in at QB over the guy who is a better thrower if they don't have the reps with the first team. Someone like Air Nolan could win you a game with just his legs.

Going to let more learned readers to hash out who did what at QB today. My simple vision is that no one stood out, but Nolan seemed to 'tighten' up the race. Believe he bypassed Kleinholtz, but open to interpretation, I suppose. Expected the QBs to twirl the ball more, but maybe the lack of a cogent OL hurt those expectations. Portal, here we come. PS, still at seven out, as my guess.

2 observations
1) If I am an OSU QB needing to bring it to be the starter.. and I have to bring it against this defense.. I am so screwed

2) Defense got cheated... Griffin's pick was pick 6 and Gray should've been the winner.. not the group that has to mulch the grove

I agree.

Also pretty clear none of the guys seem to quite have the arm CJ/Fields and the balls were dying in the wind.
Howard was better than the reports seemed to make him out to be. He is good enough to make the offense function.

I feel comfortable with either Howard or Brown now. With that said, this was an exhibition. The staff wasn't going to put either QB in a position to call them into question this early.

Yeah all the QB's looked decent all off them missed a few throws but made others.
