Fans label Michigan "poverty program" after being embarrassed by 5-star QB Bryce Underwood

Opposing fanbases were quick to jump all over the Michigan Wolverines following the latest response in the Wolverines' quest to land a 5-star quarterback.

The Michigan Wolverines are attempting to be, potentially, the biggest spenders in the history of college football recruiting. It's not going as well as they might have hoped.

As the Wolverines stare a mediocre season in the face just a year after they won the national championship, Michigan reportedly stepping up its recruitment efforts for Bryce Underwood, the top quarterback prospect for the 2025 class.

Underwood, a 5-star LSU commitment, has been tied to Michigan for a little more than the last month as the Wolverines have attempted to pluck him from the Tigers. Now, Michigan is set to step its game up even further.

Michigan is rumored to be preparing a substantial NIL deal valued at $10.5 million to secure his commitment. This deal, first reported by 247Sports, would be paid out over four years and will likely increase the market value for quarterbacks of Underwood's caliber moving forward to astronomical levels.

However, social media warriors were quick to jump all over the Wolverines after the report came out and Bryce Underwood responded on Instagram. Though it's vague, he shared a photo of himself in LSU gear, making many believe he is sticking firm to his commitment.

Some fans even labeled Michigan a "poverty program" for be willing to spend $10 million on a high school quarterback, just to have it potentially blown up in their face.

Unless there’s a settlement, the hammer probably won’t come down until Feb-Apr timeframe. Two weeks from now is the deadline for tcun response to the NOA. Then, there’s a process after that.
I think this is the process. If Yoko hasn't agreed to a settlement by the end of the 90 days, the ncaa can turn it over to the COI and issue penalties immediately. Now, as others have said, I think they'll grant an extension until the end of the season though.

There's a two month period for the NCAA to respond to tcun's NOA response (they may or may not need two months).
Then, there's a hearing which will be scheduled two months in advance.

Now they are putting all their eggs into the Miller Moss basket. Guy took a step back this year, he’s better than what they have now but he’s not a QB who leads a breakthrough season.
Moss struggled this year in a very QB-friendly offense with weapons around him. Now imagine him in Cryin' Sherrone's offense without Colston Loveland, who is gone after this season and literally their only weapon in the passing game. He's better than anyone they have right now, but like you said, he's not exactly a transformative talent.

Oct 30, 2024: Carter Smith decommits from Michigan Wolverines

Just sayin': Apparently he wasn't offered anything close to the $10M they reportedly offered Bryce Underwood........

Not that Smith is some kind of elite talent but he’s better than the low 3* fodder Harbaugh hauled in the last few years at QB. Now in this class they likely end up with another Denagal type.

I would like to know why Michigan Beat (Sam Webb specifically) is so quiet today?
On a normal Friday, they would have put 20 tweets out by now??
I would love to hear what happened on this whole mess, I do have my own suspicions, but am interested to hear from them or anybody else on the matter

Jesus, what is it with that shit site. Between the huge banner at the top and the second ad at the bottom, the actual content is maybe the middle third. It's literally claustrophobic to try to read.
