I thought someone posted here that Moore got some clause in his contract that says they can't fire him for anything related to what Stalions was doing. I'm not sure why they would agree to that, unless Moore has threatened to go public with what he knows.Michigan is in the unique position of being able to fire both president and head coach at bargain basement prices.
Perhaps. Probably also what's keeping Yoko from throwing Manuel under the bus as his scapegoat.I thought someone posted here that Moore got some clause in his contract that says they can't fire him for anything related to what Stalions was doing. Post-Bye Week Reflections and the Future of Michigan’s Offense

Forgive me if this is more of a diary post but thought it was worth discussing. Maybe this is pure copium but after seeing the landscape of college football, I’m slightly more optimistic about the future under Moore and Michigan football as a whole.
This year has been pretty disappointing post National Championship and we’re set to lose some major defensive players but I honestly think a change of defensive coordinators would do us good and could get us back to at least a stable defense.
But what gives me the most hope is the future of our QB situation. We have a high floor guy in Davis who by all accounts reads the defense well and throws an accurate ball. Maybe not the most athletic guy but with proper development he should be better than either Orji or Warren. We should be absolutely thrilled about an accurate passer that can put guys in positions to make plays given we see where we are without a QB that can’t make quick decisions and even work well in the short-intermediate passing game.
The other factor to look at is that Carter Smith is getting overlooked. His numbers at QB have been solid with a 62% completion rate, 1,009 passing yards through 6 games, 11 TDs through the air, 10 rushing TDs, 435 rushing yards. Also he apparently won Florida player of the year beating out the Buckeye phenom Jeremiah Smith after throwing for 2,223 yards with 29 TD and 4 INT while completing 133 of 213 pass attempts (62.4%). He ran for 715 yards and 19 TD while averaging 6.9 ypc.
We’re seeing in today’s landscape a good QB and offensive line can patch over a lot of issues and make teams competitive. And our OL and QB situation presumptively only gets better from here in the years to come with the potential of Davis, Smith, and possibly Brady Hart.
Change of WR coach? Bringing in someone to split duties with Kirk Campbell? Get a DC that understands the college game better? We absolutely could see ourselves competing again.
Thoughts?
Jaydn Davis didn't just slip, he plummeted. On 2/21/2022 he was the #2 overall recruit (#1 QB) in the 247Sports Composite rankings with a 0.9994 rating, which would put him as the #33 highest rated recruit since the recruiting services started assigning ratings. Over the next 22 months, his ranking/rating steadily dropped as concerns about his lack of size and arm strength became apparent, finishing #111 overall (#9 QB) in the 2024 class on 1/29/2024 with a 0.9492 rating or basically a mid-range 4*. He's hardly a guaranteed "savior" at QB for them, if he even sticks around. And if he was any good at all, he'd be playing over the garbage they have right now.Your dUMb take of the Day.
Michigan actually has a very strong future at QB!
Davis was higher rated but we saw him slip in his senior year, which is never a good thing.
Carter Smith is a 3* in the same category for them as a guy like Jayden Denegal, which means putting any hope into him is comical.
Having hope for the younger guys on OL seems laughable too considering those guys couldn't beat out the shit fest they are throwing out there this season.

In today's CFB, you play to win NOW. You play the players that give you the best chance of winning RIGHT NOW. It's especially imperative for tCun because they're fully aware that this is likely their last chance to make the CFB playoff for a few years. If Jaydn Davis doesn't give you a better chance to win than a walk-on, a guy who cannot be trusted to throw more than 3 yards, or Dr. Tuttle, then he probably ain't that good either. tCun's offense has been built around the run game for years now. All their QB has to be is a game manager who can occasionally move the ball down the field through the air. That shouldn't be too big an ask of a Freshman if the Freshman has a decent amount of talent...especially when you have the 3 Stooges ahead of him.Exactly. They keep using the excuse that "he planned on redshirting!". Well plans change, they should at least when your QB situation is as awful as scUMs. If you are a so called "top QB recruit" you should be ready to play if needed.
In this day and age would you? After seeing what a shitshow that offense is without cheating and not knowing how bad it might get hammered by the NCAA, would you burn off a year of eligibility for a school that you 90% won't be at next year? If they try and force him to play, I'll bet he just walks off the team, and it would be a smart decision.Exactly. They keep using the excuse that "he planned on redshirting!". My guess would be that he wants, or at least wanted, to be at tcun, but didn't want to burn a year of eligibility until he saw how the new coaches did and what the sanctions would be. It was a smart play. Personally, best case scenario is that they try and demand that he start playing and he goes full Marcus Hall on them.I would not want to be thrown into that offense, no. If his plan is just to eat this year and then bail on them, awesome. If he actually sticks around and ends up being the sacrificial lamb next year, lol. This year is bad but next year it gets even worse.

And people notice if something bad should happen creating a bit of cover for himStalions is staying as public as possible because he loves the attention and he needs money.
They can fire him but since someone (who could it have been??) forced the university to execute the contract he now has a buyout that cannot be squashed because of any Stalions fallout.I thought someone posted here that Moore got some clause in his contract that says they can't fire him for anything related to what Stalions was doing...
I know that everyone is focusing on the Stalions comments, but the stupidest part of this Tweet is the first sentence: "They are fully cooperating with the NCAA bc they know it's not serious." No, they are not cooperating because they can no longer cooperate...
