*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

They're replacing all 5 starters on the OL. That will be just as big a factor in their success. 3 straight years they've had veteran OLs that were amongst the best in the country that paved the way for their running game and kept the qb clean. Their COVID minions are moving on. That could be a dumpster fire.

The guys remaining fighting for starting spots on the OL (Outside of Myles Hinton who got benched for struggling mid season) kept getting transfer portal recruited over for starting spots the last 2 years. That should tell you how confident they are in them.

is having a good OL important?

I'm too lazy to look through this thread. I know players have the ability to transfer when a coach leaves. Is there a similar window to enter the NFL draft?
It sure seems like this is the secret everybody knew in reading quotes from players who said they knew where Hairball was coaching next season (Johnson).

Edwards had a very Henderson type season last year, where he was up and down because of injury. That is probably the reason he is heading back there. Stat padding.

Gonna be hard to stat pad behind a completely rebuilding OL and with a QB whos zero passing threat.

They don't have the cake walk schedule into November again either.

DFBIA becomes even clearer when you encounter them in real life and not just online.

I have a work associate who's a Walmart scUMer.

He was telling me about how Ohio State is going to have "Tons of NIL transfers (meaning players only came here for the money) in he next couple of years" "Just like Texas A&M". We bring in a couple of rock solid proven players with NIL money and they act like that's the same thing as handing out blank checks to HS recruits like the A&M and Miami's of the world.

Also claims Michigan bringing in more transfers last year than we are this year is "different" because those guys did it for the "love of the game not money"

They were likely to take a bit of a step back even if Harbaugh stayed. They lost so much and there's just way more holes than they've had recently.

It's not going to be a total dumpster fire. They'll lose 3-4 games though. There's still enough in the tank defensively to win them some games and probably keep them from getting upset by their bum opponents. The offense is going to keep them from much success against the better teams though.
Depth is going to be an issue. They are losing 44 players through attrition. How many others hit the transfer portal? The key thing will be if the NCAA hits them with scholarship reductions. It will be very difficult to field a competitive team with walk-ons. State Penn went 8-4, 7-5, 7-6 and 7-6 in the four sanction years and I don't think they lost as many players as Michigan is going to lose.

Guys who have already been there a couple of years are too far gone washed into that Harbaugh "Michigan man" mindset. I doubt we see many of those types leave. It'll be more guys becoming Sophomores in 2024 and the incoming class of 2024 that would take the big hit.

They can grind out probably ok years in 2024 and 2025 with that, but year 3 of Moore under the scenario where they get hit is going to be when the real dumpster fire hits.

Getting to know Michigan OC Sherrone Moore, the favorite to succeed Jim Harbaugh in Ann Arbor

Moore has been recognized as a future leader and a future head coach

Near the end of his time at Central Michigan, Moore was chosen by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) to participate in the inaugural 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute.

The program “is a prestigious program aimed at identifying and developing premier, future leaders in the football coaching profession. Selected participants are invited to attend the one-day institute that features a curriculum of interactive lectures focused on topics specifically tailored to emphasize leadership in the coaching profession, ethics, influential responsibilities, career progression, and family balance.”

During his time at Michigan, Moore has emerged as a clear head coach candidate — whether that be at Michigan or elsewhere.

"I have total trust in the coaching staff that we have," Harbaugh said before the 2023 season. "I'll make a bold statement: Every one of our assistant coaches will be a head coach. I would even say four after this season. Mark my words and mark them well. Sherrone Moore has knocked it out of the park at every step. He's checked every box."

As far back as November 2022, Harbaugh was saying the following: “Athletic directors calling: ‘Hey, is Sherrone Moore ready to be a head coach?’ Beyond ready to be a head coach, Sherrone Moore.”

Moore is just 37 years old. He would join Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman and USC's Lincoln Riley among the youngest head coaches at major college football programs.
