*2024 tCun Shenanigans, Arguments, Cobras, Feckless Marmots, Fake Pandas, Dirty Cheaters

Dude Kentucky just had vacated wins and a bowl ban because 5 players didn’t work their NIL hours.

He has no damn clue what he’s talking about.

So the NCAA is going to dole out 5 lvl one, multiple lvl 2, and a LOIC… then just go “your punishment is 50k!” Seriously just use 1/10 your brain. Obviously they’re getting a bowl ban and vacated wins.
ASU and FSU (who cooperated) got nailed as well.

Add Beau Bishop from 97.1 the fan in the “they’ll get a heavy fine and recruiting restrictions” crowd.

Why is there such a ground swell from the media regarding the penalties? They aren’t using any logic here.
It’s contrarian. That’s what they do.
If you believe the draft NOA, the language is as bad as I’ve seen. The penalties should match the language.

Logic is only useful when talking about entities that are known to be consistent.
- If I drop a ball, it will fall to the floor/ground/whatever is below it. That's gravity. That's science. Science is consistent.
- The sun will rise tomorrow. I know this, because the sun has risen every day I've ever observed it. It's a repeatable experiment. Consistent. It's the science of a globe earth rotating around its axis.
- *ichigan sucks. It's science. Consistent.

The NCAA is not consistent. I mean, they're consistently inconsistent. It might be a little expected when you get real people involved in the decisions. If I drop a ball from a height, and then 10 people get to put in suggestions on what the ball does from that point and then they vote, it would be pretty inconsistent what happens to the ball.

The NCAA let Cam Newton play. It was the dad who took the money, right? Yeah... right... How much was it? $250,000? Something. I forget.
The NCAA made Ohio State suspend Chase Young for borrowing money that he paid back. And how much was that? $1,000?

So, I'm pretty pessimistic about what will happen to *ichigan. Maybe if I expect the worst, I can't be disappointed. I wouldn't be shocked if they have to vacate wins, but I might be a little surprised. I expect probation, maybe some recruiting restrictions. I don't think they'll get fined, but that's possible, I suppose. I've said a few times (probably in this thread), I'll happily chow down on some crow if they have to vacate any wins.

I'm mentally preparing myself for nothing happening, but this is pretty compelling.

Yeah its frustrating but a good way to look at it and temper expectations until we hear an actual punishment.

They’re already on probation they already have restrictions. That was for what a single lvl 1 recruiting issue?

You’re right logic is hard with the NCAA but it’s there if you look.

As I’ve pointed out with Kentucky just this past week or so.

Arizona State in April got 4 years probation, recruiting restrictions, they self imposed a bowl ban and vacated wins, they got a fine, AND scholarship reductions.

USC in 2014- 2 year bowl ban and 30 scholarships over 3 years because two players got money.

Then we know what we got because five players sold their shit.

so basically everyone is saying the NCAA is just going to stop doing anything because they gave up on the KU Basketball issue and also lost in court for the pay for play thing. We all know they weren’t holding off the amateur model so really it’s that what they didn’t nail KU Basketball and others?

Even in that case the NCAA had no where to go because they couldn’t combat that the head coaches knew without a doubt. Well enter the new rule that wasn’t around back then that a head coach assumes responsibility for his staff.

I’m sorry I’m a broken record here but there’s no way they get hit with what they’re getting hit with and it’s just a small slap on the wrist.

If anything the NCAA under this new administration has directly shown they’re going to hit pretty hard (see ASU and Kentucky this year).

No damn way gravity gets defied on this one using your analogy.

So......I'm trying not to harp on you, but you're looking at things from a certain viewpoint, which isn't the same viewpoint an investigative body would look at things. If this was the OJ trial, you'd be ranting about how it's impossible for him to be found not guilty because somebody else murdered someone and was caught once.

Facts:
they're on probation already
Kentucky got hit for less
ASU got hit for less

Not facts:
this means Michigan will get hit the hardest

that's an opinion coming from the viewpoint of somebody who sees that Michigan cheated, but doesn't have to prove to crybaby Michigan fans that it was 112% certain they cheated.
