2024 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Stay one extra day on the business trip at your own expense?
Think the trip is too close to change schedule, but also, I can't really afford to, already flying out early to meet up with family before the business. Could become a real mess to try and change itinerary now. Just gonna have to find a good bar in the airport and hope to land in time to catch the end. It's the noon game I have the best shot at seeing the whole game :(

I actually would have put Bama in instead of SMU, because SMU has no quality wins. How did you really play your way into the field with zero top-25 wins and 2 losses? Bama did beat UGA & Mizzou. I would say having 2 more quality Ws would outweigh having 1 more loss. I guess the fact that SMU's second loss was in the ACC title game was a disadvantage since Bama had no title game to lose, but still, it doesn't excuse the lack of quality wins.

I mean, Indiana and PSU also got in with no good wins, and no one's batting an eye. Eventually losses have to matter.

2 more quality wins don't outweigh 1 more loss and getting blown out by an Oklahoma team that was missing it's top 5 receivers and couldn't functionally throw the ball.

You have a point. It does make it seem that 3 losses is kind of the new 2 - it used to be almost impossible to make the playoff with 2 losses in the past, as you'd have to have an overwhelmingly better resume otherwise to get in - now maybe 3 losses is the tipping point for at-large selections.
