2024-2025 College Basketball General Discussion

Illinois added some gifted players from Europe, a freshman shooter from Lithuania and a 7-footer from Croatia. Those guys are leading them to a win over John Calipari's Razorbacks. I totally overlooked Illinois in my early analysis of the B1G, but they have a handful of guys who are very talented offensive players, which is going to for sure help them be a factor in the league race.

I haven't followed college basketball very closely the last few years. The days of those great recruiting classes growing together from freshmen to seniors are gone. Out of curiosity after seeing the scores from yesterday I looked at Kentucky's starting 5. Every single starter a transfer, some having transferred multiple times. I'm glad these kids are being paid and allowed the freedom to go to where it suits them but it's ruined the game.

New Mexico State: where forceably removing your teammate's pants and grabbing their junk is a rite of passage:
Somethin‘ about Aggies.

Watching Holtmann's Depaul team take on Pitino's Johnnies. The difference in athleticism is clear and the way Holtmann's teams 'bounce' off the opponent is eerily similar to what is happening with our Buckeyes when faced with an overly aggressive - dare I say thuggish - way of playing. Instead of fighting through it and moving bodies, they allow themselves to get moved every time or turn the ball over not being strong enough with the ball.

Diebler wont get a fair shot until the entire roster are his guys. Transfer portal players are fingers in the dam. The concrete guys will come through recruiting if they stay long enough to get tough.

Damn. Maryland won 115-57 vs St Francis tonight. They are a bitch to play at home as we already found out. I think at the end of the year they will get recognized as one of the worst teams to have to play in their building. That place jacks them up beyond what they normally accomplish.
