2024-2025 College Basketball General Discussion

UConn has lost back-to-back games in Maui, and tonight they play in the 7th-place game at midnight vs Dayton. They got beat by a very talented Memphis team in a close one and then lost a nail-biter to a mediocre Colorado team. I guess Hurley isn't a god after all. Huskies may be coming back down to earth a bit this season - lots of very good players lost from last season's repeat championship team, and it seems the replacements are not quite as high level.

Future OSU opponent Auburn has won the Maui Invitational. They are ranked #4 and poised to move up. Big man Johni Broome dominated, averaging about 22 points, 15 boards, 4 assists & 3 blocks vs Memphis, UNC & Iowa St. When the Buckeyes play the Tigers in Atlanta, it's looking like a David vs. Goliath type matchup.

UM is cruising to a Fort Myers Tip-Off championship vs Xavier. Xavier looks bad, just not very impressive athletically & making dumb mistakes like losing the ball dribbling behind the back & falling down and throwing the ball away. I can see why they invested so heavily to pry Conwell away from OSU, as Xavier doesn't seem to have anyone else that's actually good at shooting the 3. Freemantle has some moves inside but it's basically gonna be 2 guys carrying them offensively all season.
