3) The cost of getting (qualified) operatives to all the games (and to the ideal viewing points inside the stadiums) would be significant. I doubt that Stalions is funding it (and "acting alone in a vacuum").
.........

I am not sure that you need a "qualified operative". You could pay anyone $100 bucks and the cost of a ticket to point their smart phone at the signalers and then the play. Smart phones have some good zoom capabilities. Porn Name Marine gets the file and does the analysis. They wouldn't need to do it on ECU, UNLV or Bowling Green. Just the "difficult" opponents. When Porn Name was still a Marine, he was a volunteer coach who flew to all of SCUM games. With possibly paying for lodging that would be some serious coin. Maybe he decided to invest in his coaching career.

iirc Rain Man was giving Day shit on a B1G coaches conference call. Something about illegal practices I think.

Day told him to shut up and worry about his own team and that started the "hang 100" stuff inside OSU.
IIRC the whole "hang 100" thing was a comment Day made to the team after that coaches conference call and it was heard by one of the beat writers and that's how it got out. It was never meant to be a public comment. Once it was out there, we as fans ran with it.

Detailing the complete absurdity of the argument that the coaches weren't fully aware of what the porn name marine was up to.

“If you don’t like it, stop it,” another staff member said.

Man if someone could have taken Porn Name Marine's 11x17 sheet during a game... Could have just called a play toward the sideline that sent a few players barreling right at him. Can't stop because of their momentum, they knock him down, grab the sheet and just get back onto the field of play with it. Keep running toward the friendly sideline of course, but once off their sideline, what are they gonna do.

That’s the thing about illegally recording signals from every single game the entire season.

Even if the opponent was extremely paranoid and cautious and had four separate sets of unique triggers for their signals during the game and rotated through them during the season—something that would be prohibitively burdensome to implement and take a massive amount of time and effort to implement—as the cheater you could still cross reference your illegal database and figure out what triggers they were using in that particular game.

It might take a bit longer to crack in that scenario, say, by about halftime, but it would still be pretty easy when you have the entire year recorded… especially at the end of the season when your data would be the most robust.

Unless Harbaugh completely refuses to cooperate in the investigation, I expect the NCAA to donext to nothing about this.

I would not be surprised to see the B1G levy some punishment though. Since taking that job, Harbaugh's been pretty comfortable with pushing the envelope when it comes to rules (satellite camps, recruiting sleepovers, team trips, etc.) and it wouldn't surprise me if the powers that be want to knock him down a notch or two.....

Either that or the administration at tsun. As someone else stated, neither Manual or Ohno are going to let a guy like Rainman ruin their reputations....

Over 25% Chance Jim Harbaugh is Fired Amid Sign Stealing Inquiry

The turbulence of the NCAA’s investigation into alleged sign stealing by Michigan has dramatically increased the pressure on head coach Jim Harbaugh, whose position now appears increasingly vulnerable.
Our betting experts assess there’s a more than 25% chance that Harbaugh could face termination, with odds standing at +275.
This speculation isn’t unfounded, as Harbaugh has recently navigated through inquiries regarding recruiting violations during the COVID-19 dead period.
His dismissal would be a significant pivot for the university, possibly initiated to safeguard the program’s integrity.
The potential fallout from the investigation is substantial, with odds suggesting other repercussions: Michigan being found guilty stands at +100, a fine exceeding $1 million is at +150, and the prospect of vacating victories is set at +500.

Michigan Faces 20% Probability of Scholarship Losses After Probe

The potential for scholarship reductions is a growing concern for Michigan, with our expert team indicating a 20% chance that the Wolverines will confront this sanction, reflected in +400 odds.
This penalty is a standard NCAA response intended to enforce compliance by directly impacting a team’s lifeblood: its players.
Such a scenario could severely hamper Michigan’s recruiting efforts and team growth, essential aspects in the realm of college football.
This possible sanction underscores the investigation’s far-reaching implications on Michigan’s athletic future.

Wolverines Confront +500 Odds of Receiving Postseason Ban

Amid the NCAA investigation, the threat of a postseason ban is a grave consequence facing Michigan, with our experts placing this possibility at +500.
A ban of this nature would ripple through the university, disheartening fans and potentially diminishing the school’s appeal to prospective students and athletes.
The repercussions extend beyond the emotional, potentially causing substantial revenue losses associated with bowl games.
The current odds reflect a grim picture, with the integrity of the entire program hanging in the balance.

TSD Commentary

“The data coming in is quite telling,” said Nick Raffoul, Head of News at TheSportsDaily. “The odds represent the culmination of expert analyses and the serious nature of the allegations Michigan faces.
“These potential consequences, including Harbaugh’s firing, scholarship reductions, and a possible postseason ban, speak volumes about the gravity of the situation. It’s a pivotal moment for the university’s athletic department, and these odds suggest that the path forward will be anything but straightforward.”
