Nah I don't think they'd be putting in the effort they are if they were just going to end up with a "nothing to see here" conclusion.

The NCAA is toothless because they have no subpoena power. If you make an effort to hide it or just don't cooperate, it gets very hard for them and thus a lot of the slap on the wrist stuff.

When you give them red meat that they can actually show the world their administrative powers however....."Hey look at us in this new, post NIL world. Still relevant!! See what we did to a cheater?!"

I don’t really care about anything retroactive, I just hope these cheating fucks start losing more now that everyone knows how they are cheating and it goes beyond being really good at “getting” your signals early in games.

And Vegas is involved and probably pretty pissed. Unless they knew what Simple Jim was up to and baked that into their lines (and from the last two Ohio State-tsun lines, I'm assuming they didn't), this fucks with their money in the same way a basketball point shaving scandal would. Just a shame that Vegas isn't being run from a dive bar at Grand & Halstead anymore. If it were, Simple Jim and his staff would be begging for just ncaa penalties.
