What does the NCAA really have on them? I would think that if they had a solid case they would have contacted the Big Ten and the penalties would have started as soon as The Game was over.

I can't believe they aren't under intense pressure from CFP and TV mogols (probably the same folks, just different titles) to share what they know.

The media has dropped the issue, or turned it into a virtue. The NCAA may do about as much as they did to UNC, which is to say, nothing.

If they beat Alabama - not impossible - they won't have any problems in the portal and the few recruits won't be 3 stars from NE prep schools.

Money, Facilities, Strong Alum Group, they won't suffer as much as we hope they will
Yeah there’s definitely been a lul since Harbaugh was suspended. However I think that’s because they were going to see if it could sort itself out. Now that it hasn’t there’s not much that can be done until the NCAA finishes up.

So that’s what we are all waiting for now. This isn’t going away and they will face punishment. It will be a substantial punishment too, but right now we just have to wait for the investigation to finish.

I agree, having any "it's just a game" mentality is unacceptable.. but... is it inevitable? OSU has kicked the shit out of them for 20 years. These guys are 18 - 22 years old, ya know?

It doesn't help when the AD says this: "It's so funny, everybody's so focused on just one game," Gene Smith.

The landscape is changing and the importance of that "one game" will never be the same as it was this year.

Unfortunately it’s going to turn very NFL like overnight.

If your favorite NFL team loses to its “rival” in week 3 but wins the Super Bowl, does anyone give a shit about the week 3 game? No.

We’re headed there.

I guess we all get to witness the "death rattle" of college football as we knew it.

Sad for us zealots. I'm sure exciting for others .... Like FSU 8D

I think we are already there.

If we make that FG and then roll over TCU in the title game last year, are people still grumpy about losing to scUM? likely not.

I think espn doesn't want to taint their playoff by talking about it now. If tcun goes out, I can see them coming with both barrels after the final. If tcun wins it, then they have a dilemma on their hands: do they choose to protect the alleged purity of their playoff champion or do they choose to tear down a B1G blueblood?

FOX and BTN aren't going to say shit unless the NCAA makes it publicly impossible for them to continue to ignore it.

Not as grumpy, no. That was the big thing that hit me last year as it became more real, imagining how I would have felt in that scenario.

Even for a guy like me, The Game doesn't mean the same thing once these playoffs get rolling on a bigger scale, at least as I sit here today. I just don't see how it could stay the same.

I think that's why losing this last one was so brutal. They won the last one that REALLY mattered.
