Just putting it out there. Dan lives in Indianapolis and has some connections there, so we'll see.

The more I think about it the more I don’t think there’s a way to turn back. What go through all that only to chicken out and leave the 13 others dumbfounded?

No. Something will get handed down and I think it’ll be something we can live with until the NCAA unloads on them.

Besides, he’s right. Michigan is probably going to file something in court to get the punishment stopped anyways.

If it's a 2 game suspension isn't it better to wait a few days?

If it's just a 2 game HC suspension then every team should do what they were doing. Just flush the rules against it down the toilet.

What they got out of doing it is well worth a two game suspension for the head coach. That's not a deterrent, it's an endorsement.

So, Bert is suggesting that they've also intercepted headset communications? It's hard to remember if this has been brought up before or just speculated, because of how crazier and deeper this story keeps going. However, this is the guy that sounds reasonable and rational?

THIS GUY!?!?!?

Yeah, tCun can go ahead and get bent.

Why wouldn't comms be encrypted ??
It's trivial with Motorola CPS...

You have a sport with millions of dollars just in coaching staffs, but can't encrypt your radio ?
C'mon man - don't go trying to make me like Bielema.

I think he is saying that due to a tecnhical glitch a team he was playing inadvertently started picking up the information coming from the coaches upstairs and the other coach took action to avoid benefitting from same.

Specifically, the honorable coach was Fitzgerald and Northwestern.
Id buy that story.

Correct....he's saying against Northwestern, Pat Fitzgerald, in middle of game, let Bert know his coaching staff was picking up Wisky's calls via radio signal, and also told his staff to get off the headsets until it was fixed, therefore keeping the integrity of that game.

He said they changed channels.
My takeaway was that some industrious GA or "recruiting coordinator" was flipping through the channels and picked up Illinois or Wisconsin's (he wasnt clear when this happened and Fitz has been around forever) booth.
If you're remotely competent with radios, it'd be trivial to setup one brick that just scans on every frequency you aren't using (bc you're going to hear those anyway) and accepting all DCS*.

Basically they were on the same channel. And Fitz told them to can it and not snoop, so they changed channels.
But it boggles my mind that these teams don't encrypt their traffic to begin with. Motorsports encrypts their shit, and they're in cars going 200mph. These are 2 dudes, one standing still and the other at a high overlook with perfect line of sight. What are you doing???
Sorry for the long rant... but for a prior RF guy, it's just unthinkable. Motorola radios aren't that expensive compared to all the other expenses. And they don't break.

*Digital Coded Squelch is used for deconflicting multiple users on the same channel - it is not encryption.

Would you prefer that Ohio State Presidents act like Ono?

In light of all this, i dont see how the 2 games for Urban wasn't more than sufficient.
Did he personally whip his dick out on a call with a sexual assault counselor? Did he personally orchestrate a 2 year match fixing scandal?
So yea, i think we're too far on the other side of the spectrum. Id rather be on this side of it, but i still think we can push back more than we do.

Im sure Michigan IT department right now looks like a ponzi scheme before the FBI raid.

Yeah, I have read some of the stuff in here today and think everyone wants their flesh NOW! But, a more measured and reasoned response certainly comes as clean hands to any "legal action."

I think we just want the arrest warrant and measures to stop the bleeding.
That could be as simple as "temporary" (forever) suspending OC and DC "while investigation is ongoing" (flip Ono's due process back on him).

Wouldn’t it be glorious if Ryan Day goes “Old School” and just runs plays in using Wide Receivers, and we beat them? Even if we lose, he could force everyone’s hand by going to the podium and saying “I had no choice given the amount of data they had on our signs”. Then Michigans win becomes tainted and that continues as the big story for the next few days. The BIG 10 could still choose to vacate old wins which would put OSU in the championship game anyway. But also the CFP in the end questions the legitimacy of Michigans win over OSU and at some point just kicks SCUM out of their Top 4 and selects a one loss OSU instead.

A man can dream, right?

Tbf he has Jim as a client.
Im sure the narrative Jim told him was even worse... and so he went on the search for a different theory of the case.

This is one of those classic "your honor, i object. This information is disastrous for my client" cases.
And he has to make that objection, facetious as it may be, in order to avoid malpractice issues later / on appeal.

That’s why 2021 was ok and then it went to the next level in 2022 and then another level this year.

They probably have what 15+ games of Ohio State and Penn State?

It’s baked into the cake now

It sounds like they've been at literally every OSU game, and most PSU and MSU games.
By doing 2 seats at those games, they cover most of their own conference schedule. Only leaving 1 or 2 West schools to grab on the side.

.... the level it went to in 2022 should be apparent from the South Carolina stuff. They had so much material on B1G, they started scouting all the playoff possibilities. Georgia, Tennessee, TCU, etc.
They fixed the SCe vs Tenn game to explicitly dodge them and setup a route in case they lost to us.
This is why the real cheating being discussed can't just be "scouting". They were literally fixing games with the information they had.
