This isn’t the same thing as an employee accusing another employee of playing grab ass or similar. This is the government accusing your entire company of malfeasance. I’m not suspending my accountant if the IRS informs me of an audit. If I do, I might as well just show up at the front door of the closest federal prison.As someone who oversaw an HR department for over 20 years, the only thing this is evidence of is the institution covering their ass.
It's not an admission of anything. It's not putting yourself in a position where the employee can sue you. That's all it is.
They're either conducting an internal investigation, or pretending to do so, but it's not an admission of guilt.
