2023 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

I'm excited to watch the games, see guys develop, etc., but every year that passes is less enjoyable to follow the team. There's mounting pressure to win an NC, and beat Michigan, or else the season is a failure. That's always been the case to some degree, but the standards keep going up as Alabama and Georgia string together NCs and everyone is left in the dust. It's not enjoyable to log in and feel the need to discount 30 point wins or defensive improvement because we have to wait until the end of the season to see if OSU can win when it matters the most. And if they don't, argue about who needs to be fired and wait 9 months to try again.

Part of the fun is the uncertainty, but IMO, there's been more and more impressive talent coming into the program, some excellent coaches, and it's still not enough. Sorry for being a downer, I'm also depressed generally so that puts a sour tint on everything as well.

I think the new playoff will address much of this. Barring a disaster, we'll be in every year with a chance to do damage.

I can already hear the wailing on social media when some folks realize they need a Peacock subscription to watch the game.

Check that, it's starting already.

Guess I will have a big contingency of local OSU fans at Casa de RB07OSU for that one. Pretty sure our local alumni game watch location cannot accommodate that. Can't blame fans for getting pissed though imo, really should be able to watch all games through one platform (whether that is DirecTV, YouTube TV, Sling, etc.), albeit those without Peacock can just get a free trial for that game.

Those day are over, unfortunately. It's only going to move further away from that model.
