2023 NCAA Tournament and Bracket Discussion

Fucking UCONN. Looked like a dead program two years ago, yet here they are, rising from the ashes again. They've been pretty mediocre for most of the last 15 years overall (they've outright missed the tournament 7 of the last 14), but somehow they bubble up every few years and go on one of these damn runs. If they can do it, why can't we?

Damn Florida Marlins.

About to be 5-0 in championship games. They get there and cash in every time. Crazy.

This would be UConn's 16th national championship in hoops, men and women, since 1995 (5th for the men).

The Buckeyes won the men's title in 1960.

Basketball is their priority. Anyone who has seen the UConn football program can attest. We all know that's not how it works in Columbus.

Some unbelievable luck from the sports gods too. Whenever UConn has a team just good enough, the seas seem to part and gift them quite a road in the Final Four.

Got an 8/7 matchup in a title game. Then the last 2 F4s have been the tallest midget.

Now…they did have some really good teams no doubt. But OSU catches an All Time Florida team in hoops. And an all time Georgia team in football.. would love a gift (maybe it was Oregon after Bama?). TCU would have been a layup this year.

Oh, it's absolutely their bread and butter, but this isn't a program that consistently contends for NCs, or regularly stacks their roster with blue-chip recruits. Hell, they've had multiple-year runs of missing the damn tournament. But every few years they just happen upon a well-built roster and go on a run. They're aiming for their third title in thirteen years under three different coaches. Crazy stuff.
