This just isn't true. WE have to win and we're in. Alabama, Georgia, {Flavor of the month SEC team} can comfortably lose and still be safely in. This is because Bama gets to beat "top 10" Ol Miss. Why is Ol Miss in the top 10? Because they beat Arkansas, who was 15. Why was Arkansas 15? Because they beat South Carolina, who was 22. Why was South Carolina 22? Because S-E-C. Were any of them any good? No....but they were ranked, so let's pump them up.

Sure, I get the whole SEC SEC stuff. We’ve gotten in with losses, just last year in fact if you recall. My point is, it usually sorts itself out on the field.
Like I said though I think the polls will influence it more in the 12 team format, especially potential seeding.

You can't say they don't matter right now, when it's been proven that they do. They stupidly matter....for some teams more than others.

I don’t see where they have unduly influenced who the final four teams are. So, I don’t agree that it has been proven that they matter for the final four.
Everyone loves to get their undies in a bunch week after week about the who’s in BS that ESPN drives. In the end the Buckeyes have never been left out due to the polls.

The 2019 factor of who was #2 and had to play Clemson is also relevant. Since UGA had no top WRs in the SECCG, LSU shut them down and jumped tOSU in the final pre-playoff rankings.

Lost at HOME to Michigan State and the playoff teams were all conference champions. Hard to argue the polls influenced the decision here and kept us out.

And they won it all go figure. Simple solution is, don’t lose. TOSU benefited last year by losing and not playing in the CCG. So, back yo the original argument, tell me did the polls influence that?
