When has strength of schedule been the determining factor for OSU making or missing the CFP?

It has always come down to a win or a loss in a key game. It's never been about how a team they beat in September fared.

Yep, or choking like we did against Iowa & Purdue under Meyer. Win those games and we were in.

IMO if you lose a game you have zero right to bitch about not making it. Control your own destiny, don't leave it into the hands of a committee.

2016. Beating the bxii champ, Oklahoma, in their own house got us in despite losing to the Big10 champ.
If we don't play OU that year, they go instead of us.

Those Hi/Lo picks are amazing. Is that read as best and worst ranking this week by a coach?

USC 5 & 22
Tenn 9 & 20
Bama 3 & 12
Washington 5 & 11

Who in the hell thinks USC is 5th best team and Bama is 3rd best team or that an undefeated Wash. is 11th?

No it's low/high for the season. There is a redditor who shows the vote distributions of the AP poll each week, its usually interesting. Coach's poll isn't public until end of season I believe.

They did lose a couple of votes. They went from 1522 to 1520. And 4 first place votes to 3. Not huge, I know, but something.
Ohio State may have picked up that vote, going from 2 to 3, despite losing points, as well. (1459 last week to 1454 this week.)
Georgia picked up the points, going from 1586 to 1590, despite not gaining or losing any first place votes (58).

The AP poll saw a little bit more movement.
Georgia went from 1536 (38) to 1553 (48)
M*ch*gan went from 1504 (19) to 1494 (9). 10 people must have bumped them from 1 to 2.
Ohio State went from 1454 (3) to 1446 (3)
