It’s fun that even the more realistic among their fans can’t quite get over the last hurdle of their full humiliation, which is that Harbaugh would have taken any NFL offer he could if that option was even remotely available to him. It was not his choice to come back, he got flat out rejected by the NFL and was forced to come crawling back. He effectively took the program’s moment of glory and squandered it completely on his own desperation for an NFL job, was humiliated, and utterly destroyed any momentum he may have otherwise had in the process.

Oh, and it seems to be confirmed that he took a long vacation the month before the recruiting quiet period in July… the month specifically made for college coaches to take a break from recruiting to go on vacation. That, alone, is an astonishing level of negligence.

I'm trying to imagine being a fan of a program whose recruiting is in REALLY bad shape and finding out that the HC just left town for several weeks at a critical juncture in the cycle, and can't quite get there. But I imagine it's something like...

Makes you wonder if the reason JH appeared so desperate to take the Vikings job is because he saw this NIL debacle coming.

And a response by one of the few with open eyes.

I haven't been on the board lately but I can't believe this is where you guys are leaning? It wasn't mostly JH trying desperately to jump ship? It wasn't Gattis giving the double bird on his way out? It wasn't us losing our DC as well? This is so much more about JH and our rivals floating to recruits that he's going back to the NFL, then straight up does what they said he would do. He's proven he's only one foot in the door.

By comparison here is George’s linebacker coach and Co. defensive coordinator hosting a defensive clinic at Raylen‘s high school.

All while Coach Harbaugh was on the Beach at Rio

If this off-season is proving anything, it's that their 2021 season was the result of an amazing confluence of fortunate events for them and they're about to be brutally smacked back to reality.

2 flash in the pan one year wonder pass rushers were the main key to their success, the chance they hit that again anytime soon is way closer to 0 than anything. Their defense is going to be a mess without Hutchinson and Ojabo constantly wreaking havoc, we got a preview of what it will look like in the UGA game. Even if their offense manages to be somewhat above average there's no way they are going to score enough to keep up with competent offenses who will score at will on their D. PROBLEM is their schedule is a damn joke and competent offenses will be few amongst their opposition.

That schedule is laughably soft. So, they probably waltz into the game 9-2 or 10-1 and then get stomped by tOSU and snot bubbled in some "meh" bowl game. Works for me!
