Again, I don't want to pump too much sunshine into that state, or give them much praise. But this is the difference between them and the Penn State cult. Penn State fans defend Sandusky based on nothing except if there's no crime, then Paterno didn't cover anything up. *ichigan fans, though, are condemning Schembechler for whatever his role was for decades in their scandal. Schembechler-defenders are almost as hard to find than the Paterno-attackers (within the Penn State fanbase).

Ignore all statistical data and history and chalk this up as a great hire because "Ravens" and "analytics." Very on brand.

If they haven't already gotten there, they will soon convince themselves this guy is actually better.

All it takes is stupidity and an echo chamber of which, they have a seemingly inexhaustible supply of the former and the interwebs have taken care of the latter.

But he was coaching with inferior talent at Vanderbilt so you can’t judge the results! Wait until he gets the Michigan talent rolling.

Jim Knowles’ defenses at Duke were awful, too. Oh wait…

In 2017, Duke’s Knowles-led defense was one of the best in the ACC, ranking among the league’s leaders in both scoring defense (3rd) and total defense (4th). The Blue Devils allowed just 20.23 points per game, marking the program’s lowest total since 1977, and surrendered more than 24 points just twice.

Actually this got me wondering what kind of analytics OSU is working when formulating plays? I hope they are using something in that sphere.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to defend, everytime the QB is under the center, there is a run and everytime the QB is in the backfield it's a throw. Lol

Sometime, you need stats guys to analyze other teams, as well as, to keep your team from becoming predictable.
