What is absolutely fascinating is that not only are their fans right back on the train, the national sporting press seems to be going right along with them. Every "too early" 2022 poll I've seen has ttun in the top-10, many top-5.

We're just ignoring the 6 years of underachieving prior to this 1 anomaly of a season? We're ignoring that they lose their best RB, much of their OL, the 2 Edge rushers that made their defense go and their best LB? While also ignoring they blew a big 2nd half lead to an "okay" Sparty team, almost lost to bad Corn and Rutgers teams? Got run off the field in their first big bowl game in years? Forgetting all that and assuming that somehow, in year 7, Simple Jim just suddenly figured it out? This is gonna be glorious.

DFBIA gonna DFBIA. They seriously expect plug and play to replace their best players. Even though said best players took years of "development" before they actually decided to perform at a high level. They might be able to do what they did this year every 6 or so years when they get the right mix of super veterans who decide to finally put it together, but they mistake the one year for a trend that will be the case going forward.

Oh, I expect it from them. I'm just a little, well maybe not really surprised so many pundits think 2021 is gonna be the new norm up there.

It cracks me up that they love to play the "the press hates us!" card when year in and year out they smoke their little peepes to ttun. The media has been DESPERATE for ttun to "return to glory" for two decades. We got 9 months of how Simple Jim was gonna take over the B1G and even the field with Urb and the Buckeyes. Then they lost to Utah. Then it was "wait til he gets his players!" Then they went 8-5 and eventually kept losing to rivals and every big game. It seemed the media finally caught on in 2020, then one good year and THEY'RE BACK!!! The media sent a terribly underserving ttun defensive back to the Heisman Ceremony because they want scUM to be relevant in some way.

It isn't just recent, either. DickRod was gonna revolutionize the B1G. Whoops. Brady Hoke goes 11-2 against a powderpuff schedule in year one, which happened to coincide with a Buckeye team in turmoil and they say he's gonna "Manball" ttun back to glory. Turns out he sucked. The big turn is always just around the corner, then they go 8-5 and lose every game they matters. It's the longest running shell game in sports.

You can set your watch to it.
