Loved the fight in this team, if not all of the performance. They sucked it up at halftime and came from 14 down to beat a good team with a lot of support.

The only logic I can think of is this. We had 2 goal line turnovers and didn't want to risk a 3rd. You take a timeout a bit early in the event there is a bad snap on the field goal attempt.

Not what I would have done, but I bet those are the reasons.

Yeah, that's all I can come up with too.

Okay, someone please explain this to me like I'm a four-year old....

Why not run it into the line one more time and call a time out with 2-3 seconds left and then the field goal ends it?

Only thing I can think of....

It was 2nd down. If there was a bad snap, then the holder can throw the ball away to allow for another FG attempt on 3rd down. Used to be more of a thing back in the days when FGs weren't so automatic, but I haven't seen a coach do that for years.
