2022-2023 College Basketball General Discussion

That was a odd game.

Iowa started the game up 18-4 and led 45-37 at halftime. Then got absolutely boat raced in the 2nd half to lose by 9.

Giving up 92 points to EIU is bad, very bad. This is the same EIU team that shot 25% and only scored 43 points against us. They are 354th in KenPoms adjusted offense rankings. Yikes.

EIU is 350th in NET. Iowa better hope they don't end up at the end of the bubble, this is the kind of loss that will keep you out of the tourney if it comes down to it.

This loss was historically bad.

EIU became the first underdog of 30 or more points to win outright in the past 30 seasons, according to ESPN Stats and Information research. Before Eastern Illinois' upset of the Hawkeyes, underdogs of 30 or more points were 0-558 over the past 30 seasons.

I love stuff like this, which we see every year in college basketball.

Ohio State's next opponent, Alabama A&M, beat Lipscomb. Lipscomb beat Louisville.

But it gets better. Mississippi Valley State is 1-13. Their only win is over North Alabama. North Alabama beat Ole Miss.
