2022-2023 College Basketball General Discussion

Nice to see Nembhard back and playing well. He was Big East freshman of the year last season but broke his wrist late February. The Blue Jays looked like a team who could make a tournament run before they lost him.

They're in the middle of nowhere Nebraska, doing in hoops what Corn wishes they could do on the gridiron.

Nembhard is a beast

I usually wouldn't be watching this tournament, but with the Bucks being part of it I'm checking out Arizona-San Diego State.

It's actually quite a game, so far, with the Aztecs taking a 41-40 lead early in the second half.

Jinx that was literally what I was thinking as I just posted

I'm rooting for SDSU. Not so much because OSU played them, but more for the 3 guys from San Diego I sat by in the Shoe years ago.

They came to Columbus to see what a real college football atmosphere looked like. When the Aztecs went up 6-0 they were taking pictures of the scoreboard. They were hilarious. My best bud and I hung out with them at Hineygate after the game. The Buckeyes won, 27-6. My best bud died last year of cancer. Looked it up, that game was in 2005.

Just rambling because time flies. Glad to have these memories. Go Aztecs.

Refs aren't doing SDSU any favors. That blocking call was atrocious, and now he's on the bench with 4 fouls. Gonna be tough for them to come back now.

Damn AZ opened it up. Didnt think it would go this bad. I did say in the game thread that on a night when those crazy shots aren't falling for SDSU that they would drop a game or two. Add in that AZ is really good and tonight happens. The Wildcats are shooting their asses off too

Kenny Payne is coming home to Louisville, and a payday awaits.
The University of Louisville Athletic Association Board of Directors on Friday approved a contract for the Cardinals' new men's basketball coach that will pay him $3,350,000 per year.
The deal is effective Monday and runs through March 31, 2028.

Louisville, Kenny Payne questioned after horrid offensive showing against Texas Tech as Cardinals fall to 0-5

Louisville basketball struggled mightily on offense in the Maui Invitational against No. 21 Texas Tech, losing 70-38 to move to 0-5 under first-year head coach Kenny Payne. The Cardinals shot 11-of-49 (22.4%) from the field and had 18 turnovers. Their leading scorer was forward Jae'Lyn Withers, who had just seven points.

The loss for Louisville game one day after a 26-point defeat to Arkansas. Ahead of going to Maui, the Cardinals lost "buy games" at home to Bellarmine, Wright State and Appalachian State.

The Cardinals had just 13 points in the first half and were held scoreless for nearly six minutes into the second half. They did not hit the 20-point plateau until there was just over 10 minutes to go in the second half.
