Seriously, man... Whatchu got against shit goblins?
Well, first they're shit.
And.. then.. second they are also goblins.
And THEN... you put that all together and they're shit goblins.

So I have three things against shit goblins.

That said, comparing them to DFBIA is probably a little below the belt.

Like clockwork. Pump the DFBIA and no mention of the Buckeyes.

Michigan: After a bad year on the field that included a lot of drama surrounding coach Jim Harbaugh's future, Michigan retooled its defensive coaching staff and went on a run, flipping defensive tackle Rayshaun Benny from Michigan State and beating out a number of top schools for George Rooks. The Wolverines have the No. 2 class in the Big Ten and the No. 10 class overall.

The part they left out....

"Michigan retooled its defensive coaching staff and went on a run, flipping defensive tackle Rayshaun Benny from Michigan State and beating out a number of top schools for George Rooks after losing two higher-ranked defensive prospects on Early Signing Day...."

scUM replaced Early Singing Day decommits LB Branden Jennings (.9511) and DE Quintin Somerville (.9147) with Signing Day stunners DL Rayshaun Benny (.9213) and DL George Rooks (.9070). So, a pretty sizable net downgrade in talent, but because the scUM coaching staff instructed the kids to wait until Signing Day to announce, they get to claim that some kind of "Michigan Movement" is underway. A pathetic little marketing ploy that DFBIA and the national media fall for every single time.

Another part they left out....

"The Wolverines have the No. 2 class in the Big Ten, but it's still 41 points behind Ohio State's top-ranked class (309.49 to 268.77), with scUM's average recruit being ranked more than 4 points lower than Ohio State's (94.52 to 90.30)...."

Journalisming at it's finest, folks.

I mean, don't sweat the details, right?

Nice recovery, but you failed to mention that you can't see shit goblins until it's too late. We can see the DFBIA long before it's necessary.

Thats a pretty large gap! Like, large enough to where they still haven't come close to OSU's talent level :banger:

Are We Sure Michigan's Defense Won't Be Good in 2021?

The following post comes with some caveats. I realize Michigan's individual defenders did not, on average, cover themselves in glory last season. We all know this. Clearly, some units take big steps forward and everything clicks and some units flounder for reasons that may not be discernible from the outside looking in. Furthermore, I am taking educated guesses as to how the defense will look based on Seth's Neck Sharpies article and just plain common sense. I think MacDonald and Linguist will try to be more flexible with the personnel than Don Brown was. With all this being said, let's run down each position:

No, we're sure, they won't be good.
