At what point does somebody with half a brain up there say "stop giving quotes in interviews, stop running your mouth, stop fucking tweeting...just try to BE BETTER."

That's a rhetorical question.

:scum:

Judging from that thread some of DFBIA isnt even buying into it anymore. However we will see how quickly that tune changes once their camp starts and they get reports of how "explosive" the offense looks.

"Speed in Space" already rambling about how they are FIRED UP!!! and are gonna take that out on everyone.

https://www.mgoblog.com/mgoboard/gattis-quote

Oh...well then...if they're fired up...

"In our building, don’t come near it with a lighter because there’s enough fuel coming out of that building that we don’t need anything to try and push us anymore further. Our guys are fired up. If people say, hey man, what do you need to fuel you? We need nothing. All of what last year went through, it fueled us to this point. We’re motivated. We’re inspired. At the same time, we’ve got the biggest chip on our shoulder because the feelings that our players felt and the feelings our staff felt, we gotta take that out on somebody. That’s why we can’t wait until training camp to get here so we can start building this team for 2021."

The fire is probably just the team lighting farts again....

That was last year. This year it’s how great the defense looks. They’ve really taken to the 3-4. Their 1st team offense is even struggling to move the ball against it. Those LBs and stand up ends are just flying to the ball carrier.

Wasn’t Mr Mon Move/speed in space talking about a blueprint to beat OSU not that long ago*?

*before his natural cunty cur nature took over and he was part of the “let’s beg out of The Game and try to fuck OSU over in the process” move last year?

could have sworn there was a blue print somewhere.

This is one huge difference between our programs and I'd argue a major player in the canyon between us...

Going back to the Tressel years, coaches regularly say things like "...but there's work to be done", "...we need to do better at X", "...we need to improve on Y."

Up there, the dingbats seem more concerned with pacifying their idiot fanbase or trying to...what?...prove naysayers wrong in the press than being constructive or motivating their players with a blunt voice of reason. You've put a product on the field that year after year has fallen short of expectations, it's okay to admit you may need to work on a few things.

And don't even get me started on their loser players running their mouths on Twitter. Wanna get better? Shut up and do work, dummy.

We've discussed the difference in culture for years now. Simply stated, upon enrollment, Ohio State players feel like the hard work has just begun. scUMmers feel quite the opposite. Upon enrollment, the hard work is over and it's just a matter of going through the motions until you're eligible for the NFL draft. It's why you see our players in tweets working like dogs in the weight room and their players doing dance moves and a warm up rep. It's why you see tweets of our players working on routes and the like in summer time and their players posting videos of them not knowing what the play is.

Real solid example is apparently the rest of that article—runs his mouth followed up by a long list of excuses:

I read through the comments first and then decided to go back and read the whole article. I think most of the comments are based on the one very brief quote in the OP instead of the full article. The article is quite long and Gattis actually addressed some of the issues often discussed on this board.

- RB's need more carries as a whole, especially the back ups without taking away from the starters.

- Had to use WR's in different roles last year due to Nico opting out and Johnson being injured early in the season. Better depth this year should allow guys to play in their ideal positions from the start.

- Team lost a lot of confidence when Aiden and Kwity went down with injuries because they were the leaders. This lead to the spiral down mentality when something bad happened. Too many freshman to overcome this leadership void last year. Working to make this year different, but many of the young guys have not played in a college stadium with actual fans so that will be the first hurdle.

- O-line had far too many young guys rotating through due to injuries. Didn't want to say that was the excuse, but it was the reason. There is only so much you can do when that happens.

- Probably didn't have a QB to even play by the end of the season due to injuries. Cade is a good leader and the team has rallied around him. Still has to keep proving it, but he continues to be "the guy" to lead the team. Good at being on time in the play design which helps the team execute.

- RB's need more carries as a whole, especially the back ups without taking away from the starters.
This one in particular is funny to me. The answer to this is comfortable leads, grinding the clock, being able to convert first downs on the ground, an effective offensive line, and a passing game that can keep defenses honest.

It’s indicative of the consistent failure of his offense, but yep, just gotta get more carries to the RBs, that’s the fix, simple!

Do you think he found the “what’s the play?” video funny?

Yep. In a tweet that has since been deleted.

https://saturdaytradition.com/michi...s-the-blueprint-is-out-to-beating-ohio-state/

“Corona[virus] may limit us to work from home….but don’t think we’re sleeping,” Gattis wrote. “2019 is over but the lessons learned live on! 2020 we won’t be so kind to beat ourselves. The BluePrint is out! We have only [one] thing on our mind!”
