Keep recruiting him and maybe we’ll get him when he transfers. That’s not a slam on the kid, but the game is played with just one ball and it’s going to be hard to keep 10 WR’s happy. - They’ve landed nine top 100 wide receivers in the last three classes (‘20, ‘21, & ‘22). Some of those guys will transfer.

Bold strategy. "Stay in their ear maybe we can get them later if they happen to not work out at the other places they chose over us in the first place"

They still also have not figured out that the best kids want to also compete with the best. The 1 time transfer rule makes that decision easier.

Legit question: Has Michigan won an actual recruiting battle with Ohio State over the last 5 years?
Michigan occasionally beats Ohio State for a recruit. Donovan Peoples-Jones is the best example over the past five years, but Ohio State also pursued (however tepidly) a few other Michigan signees (Oliver Martin; Daxton Hill; Nolan Rumler; Braiden McGregor; Blake Corum) during that time.

Michigan's problem isn't that they can't beat Ohio State in head-to-head recruiting battles, it's that they don't even try to do so. Michigan seems intent on recruiting kids who are nowhere near Ohio State's radar, a "strategy" that obviously hasn't worked for them. You can't beat Ohio State with a team full of players who weren't good enough to go to Ohio State.

7. Transferring
Remember when their coach openly lamented the fact that their starting QB spent too much time golfing over the summer.

Outside observers may think we’re exaggerating, but most of this stuff is grounded in reality.
