2021 Fall Camp and Other Tidbits

I think you are being modest by saying "I assume" in regards to their footwork. This OL very well could have 4 x1st rounders at OT.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. I think more realistic 2 1st rounders and 2 Day 2 guys. So "Fire Stud"

And the more I think about it, Munford is probably an OG in the NFL and this is his audition. He reminds me of Jackson Carman in that he's a college OT but will more than likely transition to OG in the league

Let's meet in the middle and settle on 3 first rounders lol

You made me look it up:

1968 OL
Mayes - 250
Backhus - 207
Muhlbach - 195
Jack - 215
Foley - 246

Avg: 222

That's 512 pounds less than today's OL.
If you added a second Mayes and a second Foley the line would still weigh 16 pounds less than today.

And they won the NC.
While creating clouds of dust.

And all because they didn't drink enough Holy Kombucha.

A little over 50 years later and humans 0f this level are 100 lbs heavier.

Am I crazy to think it's a little weird to move one of the best LT in the country to guard so that Jones can play RT? Wouldn't it make more sense (coming from a guy who is no o-line specialist in the least) to put in Jones at LG?

Edit - I did see in the TM thread about how he suggested Jones should be starting. Just didn't think that would mean to essentially cost him his own job, lol.

Maybe 1) he's just that much of a team player and 2) showing diversity across the line may improve his overall chances of success at the next level?

OHIO STATE COULD MOVE THAYER MUNFORD, NICHOLAS PETIT-FRERE TO GET DAWAND JONES, BEST FIVE OFFENSIVE LINEMEN ON FIELD - very good read.

Jones is way too big to play OG.
