2021 College Football Polls

It will definitely be discussed ad nauseam because it drives interest and ratings for the show. That said, if Bama loses to UGA their resume wouldn’t hold up to a 1 loss Okie lite or undefeated Cincinnati. I agree it would violate the precedent and logic behind the rankings system hereto date. This year is shaping up to be a BCS 2 challenger race and they have to seed 4. We’ll see how much ratings / $ for the playoff factors into the final rankings.

1 UGA
2 TUN
3 UC
4 ?? ND or Okie State
5 Baylor or Ole Miss or Bama or OSU or ND or Okie State
6 one of those
7 one of those
8 who cares......

If all these teams lose, we've got another 2007 on our hands. If Bama loses today and gets smoked next week as we assume, they're way gone. If Wisky wins next week and Houston beats Cincinnati.... chaos will reign and it might happen for the Bucks yet. So much would have to happen though. Put us on a fast track like the CFP and I like our chances. Snow or monsoon not so much.

Buckeyes 7th in both the AP and Coaches after that debacle. Higher than I would have thought considering history. If the CFP does likewise, the games this weekend are even more interesting. LOL. What a hilarious situation this could turn into.

I think the AP poll got the order of the top-7 correct:

1. Georgia
2. TTUN
3. Cincinnati
4. Alabama
5. Oklahoma State
6. Notre Dame
7. Ohio State

If the committee does the same, and the favorites win this week, Okie State would jump Bama for 4, and keep ND out.

Also meaning that an Iowa win would likely put ND in there instead of TTUN, but that would be a close call.

I wouldn’t like the odds for OSU in the CFp, but if Cincinnati, Okie State, and Bama all go down……who has a better argument than OSU?
Yep, I think all 3 of those could get tOSU back to #4, but I’m not counting on it at all.

But the TV sets would turn on for UGA-tOSU and TTUN-ND.

The exact same thing we just saw done to us against tsun would happen against UGA. Maybe worse.

Yeah, I don't think getting bulldozed by another SEC team on national TV would do us any favors. I have no desire to see that or hear about it.

I was hoping we were up to that challenge. Yesterday reminded me that we're not, at least not this season.

Would love to see us in a bowl game with ND, w/wo our NFL prospects.
