2021 CFB Playoff Discussion

I'll probably watch the semifinals, since they're on New Year's Eve and my old ass his nothing better to do.

But the title game being on a Monday means I'll probably just watch Monday Night Raw WWE shit.
I haven’t watched any Sunday or Monday night football game that didn’t have the buckeyes in it. I got to work in the morning. God damn 9pm kicks.

One thing about the 12-team playoff that hasn’t been discussed much is the renewed possibility of a split National Championship. If there was a 12-team playoff this year and a 3-loss Utah got hot and won everything, while Georgia got their only loss in the semifinals in OT, who do you think the AP voters would vote #1?

They would vote for Utah.

I agree with the point though that opening it up to 12 actually INCREASES the odds that the most deserving team does not end up winning the whole thing. It's why I think the sweet spot is 6 with a home game for the first round (keeping as much value as possible on the regular season). Stakes of the OSU/Michigan game would never be lessened (i.e. if OSU would still make the playoffs regardless of The Game's outcome) like some of the expansion scenarios would lead to.

Are we done with the "If these 47 things happen the Bucks can still make the playoff" posts? I saw people who are afraid to play Utah going on about wanting in the playoff - to do what? Get embarrassed by an SEC team again? Haven't we seen that enough?

I don't want an Ohio State team who got steamrolled by Oregon and TTUN anywhere near Alabama. Let Saban take out his wrath on someone else. Bring on the Rose Bowl.

Considering, I'd win a grand if Ohio State won the title, I'd have welcomed the puncher's chance had we backed into it. That being said, I'm not looking forward to a Rose Bowl that will be the Super Bowl for the Yoots and the opt-out bowl for us. And I have zero fucks to give or interest in watching a playoff that includes two SEC teams, Simple Jim and the fucking juggalos.

Well the best case scenario just happened for TSUN haters. They will have to beat GA and Bammy to win it all.
I’m a ttun hater I became a fan in the 60s not 2010. I hope they lose every game they ever play and root against them eternally. But the disgust for those fans who put NC above beating scUM has caused me to not to root for scUM but if they win the NC that some of our fans think is our birthright alone I will delight in the thought of Buckeye Planet blowing up in despair because their precious Vagina trophy is held by Jimmah himself.

Let’s get a Michigan State-Alabama 2015 Cotton Bowl redux.

I’m not watching the show, but I guess it’s now official:

1 Bama vs 4 Cincy in the Cotton Bowl, Dec 31

2 TTUN vs 3 Georgia in the Orange Bowl, Dec 31
