So annoying to hear talking heads go on about Notre Dame without one mention of their schedule. Their best win was over 8-4 Wisconsin, who lost their division in the B1G because they couldn't beat Minnesota. There's only one team on ND's schedule who is ranked today - Cincinnati.
ND is worse than Bama when it comes to special treatment. They schedule whoever they want, and as long as they don't lose twice they can pretty much make playoff reservations. They don't even have to play a CCG.
