Oh I agree with this 100%. But my logic still stands. If Hairball was even close to as good as the OSU coaches the law of averages would dictate at least one lucky win in 6 years (5).

That's why I have always maintained, before it was accepted in tsun land, that Hoke was the best of the 3 hires they have made. He actually won The Game once (albeit against a woeful OSU team) and was close in his other three. The 2014 score looks like a blowout but it most certainly was not. One turn on the trail and he could have won any number of those 4 games.

Rich Rod and Simple Jim, however, have had ass beating after ass beating administered. The one time Jimmy came close was 2016 with a roster full of Hokes upperclassmen. Those two, to me, were more like Cooper in the sense that they just didn't get The Game or didn't prepare for it the way their opponent did.

Current state, go watch the hype video they made for The Game this year. It's treated so differently between the two teams it's remarkable.

I'm convinced Hoke even submarined the rest of the year due to his focus on The Game. His teams always played way over their heads. He wanted that game bad.

Still lost, but Ol' Clapper went all in on trying.

Hes a ok Kick Returner. As a WR hes your run of the mill 5'9 180 pound slot dot though. Good for a reverse or something every now and then but nothing special. That being said he was 3rd on the team this year in receptions and yards.

I would say this is a recruiting fail. He’s a quitter and is bailing on his teammates before the last game. If that’s in his core, then the coaches really missed on this kid no matter how talented he might have been. Never quit on your teammates in the middle of a season! At the end of the year, make whatever choice you want, but don’t quit with games to play.
