I’m actually torn on this one. I’d very much like to keep the even years in Cbus like it’s been forever. Hate to see COVID fuck that up. Also, My son and I are due to come back for The Game ‘22 which would be his senior year so that’s cool.

OTOH, righteous vengeance is due forthwith and that’s best done in Columbus.

They aren’t going to be any better next year so it’s an ass beating coming no matter where. Keep the normal schedule is my position for now I guess.

I have a pretty good idea where you’ll be tailgating.

What does it matter to them where the beating happens?

Would you rather some big guy (picture The Rock, 20 years ago) come to your house and drag you into your front yard and kick your ass there, or would you rather that you have to get in your car, drive 2-1/2 hours to his house, and get your ass-beating there? Yeah - you have to drive 2-1/2 hours to get home.

I don't see SCum getting any closer to beating OSU in the next 5-10 years unless they get a new HC. It is really that simple. In 6 years he has proven that if playing a team with equal talent or even close he loses. That is a clear sign of a sub-par coach and program. I am wondering when the National media will stop acting like they are any good. It is truly madness. SCum has only ever been a regional power. And I would argue really only a B10 power for the last 60+ years. There is not a more over-hyped program in the country regardless of sport. SCum football and brand is pushed as elite yet the program has never been elite or even close. The win total is a function of playing longer than everyone else and literally beating HS kids and plumbers from 1900-1950s. It is a complete joke. I literally hate that program and especially the fan base. The fans are the biggest POS delusion group of humans I have ever met. And OSU needs to get serious about getting this win total over SCum and the sooner the better. Focus the hell up and get er done. I am 50 so I am confident I can live long enough to see this through.

When the DFBIA stops making it profitable?

Valenti frequently points out that the local media coverage is even worse.

When you have a fanbase willing to drink the koolaid endlessly, you keep giving them what they want because it drives the ratings/views/clicks that is the lifeblood of your industry.

I don't see scUM getting any closer to beating tOSU in the next 5-10 years even if they do get a new HC ... unless Saban, Urban, or Dabo suddenly wants the job, which obviously will never happen.

I would disagree only on the fact that CMD did it multiple times and I would argue that MSU has never had the talent OSU does. At the very least not the depth of talent. It was done by coaching the sit out of the team and player development. And SCum gets talent. So if they had a coach worth anything they should in theory get at least lucky every 4-5 years. It is really that simple for me. But they have not been able to bring in a coach that can rally the squad or put the players in position to win at a high level. And lets be clear, they have brought in some seriously talented players. Now one could make a good arguments that they have lacked talent in the one position that matters most which is QB. But regardless the issue has not been talent, or facilities, or money for coaches It is 100% the coaching staff and program. This for me is a point that can not be argued. The lack of performance is 100% because of the HC and coaching staff. If I did not despise that program so much I would feel a bit sorry for them on the magnitude of how badly they have been out coached by the OSU staff the last 7 years with Urban and now Day at the helm. It is a crime. And the fact that they may bring back this asshat of a coach only proves the hold shit bag city should be burned down and eliminated.

Not the same. Even though MSU has been the better team and a great battle for most years in the last 10, they aren't ttun. Different feeling in that game regardless of the records. Differently motivated, it just is.

Eh, I hate that the guys on the team are missing out on a home game against them, and missing out on their senior day. But as a fan who watches most games on TV, I enjoy watching them get their ass kicked in their own house and hearing the "O-H-I-O" chant go around their stadium just as much as I enjoy watching the same thing here.

And frankly, it’s much less costly to take in The Game in the pig house than it is to see any other B1G game in the Shoe.

But yeah, I get goosebumps every time I’m in that shit hole and O-H-I-O is clearly audible across the stadium. The look on the faces of the people sitting around me is always priceless.

You're right. I don't think you can get a pair of tickets in the Shoe for just buying a couple bottles of Coke.

A month or 2 ago I kind of thought scUM might more competitive next year. Ohio State will definitely have a drop off in talent at the QB position; and scUM would have an experienced QB returning. Happily Milton, McNamara, and McCaffery were all busts and scUM will probably be starting a first year (unproven/inexperienced) Freshman (i.e. J.J. McCarthy) at QB; so there goes that possible advantage.....

DFBIA is really beyond parody. They’re starting a series highlighting their wins over Ohio State from 1897-1904.

https://mgoblog.com/content/five-victories-over-ohio-state-1897-1904

As much as recent history sucks, history is still so much in Michigan's favor that other college football fans argue it doesn't matter. I take issue with that, yes because my team won the first college football game and more than anyone else since and I'm a biased fanboy, but also because any slicing of dates to create a "modern" period is a repudiation of the process of change, and the normality of more of it.

I genuinely don’t know wtf that last sentence even means, but regardless, the “slicing date” that creates parody between Michigan and other teams is pre-WWII.

Also, the internet says the first college football game wasn’t played by Michigan: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1869_New_Jersey_vs._Rutgers_football_game.

But go ahead, hang your hat on your 120 year old domination of teams playing their first games, you dumb bastards. Whatever makes them feel good enough to extend Harbaugh.
