The only “Michigan Men” that have coached in the modern era is Harbaugh. Not sure where Bo came up with the “Michigan Man” BS from.

Even Yost was not a “Michigan Man.”

Their successful “Michigan Men” have been Ohio Men.

And Bennie Oosterbaan, an All-American player there in the 1920s who coached them to the MNC in 1948.

Of course, I had the advantage of having watched him in his playing days.

Bo said a Michigan man would coach Michigan when then basketball coach Bill Frieder accepted a job to coach Arizona the following season, but intended on seeing his then current season (ncaa tournament) thru. In sending Frieder on, scUM went on to win the 1989 tournament. DFBIA of course latched on to that as some sort of omen or whatever the fuck. But, all Bo was doing was kicking a coach out of the building for using them as a stepping stone.

If they got bounced in the first or second round this Michigan man nonsense wouldn't exist

So all they need is for Zona to hire harbaugh before a bowl game, they can kick harbaugh out and promote Don brown, and boom instant michigan man and mncs galore. Also a major recruiting scandal, but im pretty sure their new bball coach is already working on that one.

Also its kinda sad that osu fans probably understand the "michigan man" quote better than the dfbia.

Umm, like high school teams to whom you have to spend an hour teaching the rules of the game before going out and beating them 90-0 with a semi-pro team of traveling mercenaries who had used up all their eligibility at Eastern colleges.

Them trotting out the "winningest program of all time" shit like anyone really cares still is hilarious

"we were really good in the early 1900s" sounds like a great recruiting pitch

since the turn of the century. scUM is 168-91 (64%). Which averages out to about 8-4 per season. Which = a average program

Meanwhile Ohio State comes in at 223-41 (84.4%) in the same time frame. Only finishing with 4 or more losses 4 times. With a average record of close 11 (rounding up) - 2 per season
