Worthless stat of the week:

As of today, Joe Milton has more passing yards than Justin Fields this season.

Hilariously he only has 59 more yards.........in 43 more attempts

and a whole 2 more completions than Fields in said more number of attempts. Yikes.

Who was the idiot who was saying that nobody in the country would pick anyone over Milton to be their QB? Was that Devin Gardener?

The original post is one of the most reasoned and sensible things that I've ever read on there. It quickly goes downhill from there.

How do we replicate OSU's modern success?

From a reply to that thread....
Personally think if we go 1-7 or 2-6ish the 2021 and 2022 seasons are pivotal for this program. Those go bad with the wrong hire, we become Fsu/Tennessee/Nebraska.
Narrator: You already are FSU/Tennessee/Nebraska

Since Michigan's last (partial) national championship in 1997....

Florida State also played for national championships in 1998 (lost to Tennessee) and 2000 (lost to Oklahoma), and made the CFP in 2014 (lost to Oregon).

Nebraska played for a national championship in 2001 (lost to Miami).

Only one of Michigan's three conference titles was outright.

Eight of Florida State's nine conference titles were outright.

Both Nebraska's and Tennessee's conference titles were outright.

I think the good folks at Cumberland College are definitely looking forward to our upcoming game with OSU and finally getting out of this unfortunate piece of football history.

I guess he’s assuming the Buckeyes won’t show mercy like Georgia Tech and only score 42 in the 4th quarter.

I'm shocked that you don't remember this, Bill, but it was not GT that showed mercy that day, it was the officials. The game was called early. They did not call it because of the score; they called it because the entire Cumberland team was so sick that they finally took pity on them. Players were literally puking on their hands when they got into a 3-point stance... and then attempting to play anyway. It is believed that there was bad water on the team train.

By the way... don't bring any of this up with a GT fan unless it's someone that you WANT to piss off.

didn’t FSU win the national championship in 13? The year OSU lost to MSU in the conference title game?

McNamara must be total dog shit if he couldnt even challenge Milton heading into the season............I'm sure some of DFBIA will see this as a "possible season saving move" though :tibor:

I wasn’t at this game, but it looks like they agreed to play 12-minute quarters in the second half, instead of 15. I can’t find a reference that shows it was called early other than that. It seems that Heisman, who was also the GT baseball coach was ticked that Cumberland had beaten GT 22-0 in baseball earlier that year (1916). Cumberland had discontinued their football program that year, but Heisman demanded they play or pay the $3000 penalty in the scheduling agreement, and then ran the score up to 222-0.

Oh, this is good. I definitely want to break that record, and Fields should have an all time yardage record.

Worst of all, they are 0-5 against Ohio State, and barring a miracle, will hit 0-6 with a thunderous noise of wailing and breaking glass.

That thundering noise of wailing and breaking glass will be from OSU fans angry that they don't break the all-time scoring mark set by Ga Tech at 222-0. You'll likely get nothing but apathetic, disinterested silence from Michigan fans.

Are you sure? Through very sophisticated photo enhancement and facial recognition programs the guy circled (below) was identified to the guy doing the 1st "O" in the infamous O-H-H-O picture.
