In the 1994 Orange Bowl, #2 Nebraska lost a truly heartbreaking game to #1 Florida State by the score of 18 to 16. With just 21 seconds left in the game, Nebraska gave up the go-ahead FG. I have never been accused of being "scarlet-colored glasses" guy or "glass half-full guy", but I truly believe that Ohio State is going to go on a similar run in the next few years. The talent is there in droves, Ryan Day is a certified coaching genius, and the Big Ten will be ours for the taking. We will be a perennial playoff team, and we will win some.

Ohio State will win the national championship in 2020. Book it.

Right - they lose a ton, they'll be solid on D but that offense will have major question marks.

Alabama will likely have to (again) rely on a true freshman QB, I'll take those odds

OU has already eliminated themselves next year, UGA loses a ton, etc. Wide open next year.

Hopefully by the spring I'll share your optimism. Right now I hate damn near everything about college football lol. With our luck, Fields get concussed from a clear helmet-to-helmet targeting foul against an SEC opponent that gets reversed during the first play of the National Championship. After fighting, scraping and clawing their way back from a huge deficit from a heroic effort by Gunnar Hoak, a game winning pick 6 is wiped off the board because a Buckeye defender grazed a player's back and gets called for a blindside block.

Exactly... next year will be exactly like 2006 except we aren't losing.

Anyone remember 2006? We lost our 3 lbs, 2 DL, and 2 DBs yet we returned our offense. Well we ran the table with an elite offense and a pretty good defense.

He's not all that but he is indeed a capable, experienced college QB who would be light years different than facing them with some kid who's never taken a snap before.

Interesting. I think Oregon will be a tough game regardless, but Newman is potentially a better college QB than Herbert. They return quite a bit at the skill positions and I wouldn't be surprised if they're just as good next year.
