Or when the Buckeyes were on defense, it seemed like every third and 5 was an easy conversion to Percy Harvin.

Troy panicked as well. Losing Ginn hurt for sure but that offense banquet seasoned like no offense before.

Not sure if you listened, but the Eric Lichter interview on the Beanie and Boom podcast was pretty insightful.

He talked about how Tress really upgraded the talent at skill positions across the board (on offense and defense) but he relied heavily on local kids on the O-line. He didn’t think Tressel aggressively recruited the offensive line outside of Ohio where he wanted to develop local kids. No reason was really given as to why that specific position was targeted for in-state kids, but Lichter said from a “first off the bus” perspective, OSU was struggling on the offensive line...badly.

Just interesting perspective from former strength and conditioning coach.

Looking back through old depth charts, it is pretty crazy how we cobbled together the OL each year; moving guys like Jim Cordle to left tackle and things of that nature.

In classic Bucknuts fashion, they have an article speculating on which players could/should transfer this offseason

That was the issue - player development. Bollman, for as much of the Buckeye that he'll always be, was a terrible line coach.

That 06 group had some talent, and while they lacked in athleticism on the edge, the poor coaching and conditioning only compounded the problem. Which is why the running game and quick passing was so vital to their success.

Take Warriner with those groups and they wouldn't have been such a liability.

2006? did something happen? I’v been reprogrammed to forget that.

2020, however, I am already jacked up for!

Wade is great. But Jeff Okudah has an argument.

Pittman running inside was the only thing the Bucks could do, and Tressel abandoned that one thing in the second quarter. I'm pretty sure Ginn was a big part of the offensive plan, and when Robiskie jumped on him and broke his foot, Tressel panicked. Going for it on 4th and 4 at his own 30 yard line was madness.
