2020-2021 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

I seriously doubt OSU will get a 1 seed. But about 2 weeks ago I thought they were gonna end up a 4 seed. Now I'm thinking 2 is the top end but a #3 is most likely because I just don't expect OSU to finish the regular season without losing 3 more games. Hopefully these guys will continue to provide pleasant surprises.

I was shocked Houston lost to ECU, they are the team I think *should* get the 4th #1. Of course, I am penciling in UM as a 1 in addition to the obvious 2. I expect all of these teams to be seeded ahead of the Buckeyes.

Needless to say, there's still a lot of basketball to be played before the selection committee for the "Big Dance" does their thing on Sunday, March 14th.. A lot can and will happen between now and then.

Ohio State is now up to #7 in the NET. 8-3 in quad 1 games. (Thanks to Penn State's win last night)

Couple of the quad 1 wins are barely quad 1 though.

Rutgers ranks 24th need to stay in top 30 for the home win to remain quad 1
Penn State ranks 28th again need to stay top 30

We have 3 road games left for what that is worth in a covid year. We won the 3 toughest road games they had this year beating Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.

So the remaining ones scare me being Maryland, Penn State and Michigan State since those teams are basically currently out of the tournament so losing these games hurts us a lot more than losing to a stud team like Iowa, Wisky or Illinois would have been.

So bitter sweet should be easier to win but if you don't man that hurts the resume and I think all 3 will be super hard to win.

Penn State played us tough at home already and have beat very good teams on their home floor this year.

Maryland has some great wins so will be tough.

Michigan State we may catch at the wrong time if they start to get hot.

Of course still had only 1 game vs Michigan but at home for what that is worth so Feb 21st (assuming we play it) will be the biggest game of the year.

I didn't know that Ohio State had to play both Iowa and Illinois again. I was hoping that they would play each of them just once since already won on the road against them. Now they get a shot to split the series and those are the last 2 games of the year which mean if Ohio State loses that will take a hit for a chance at a 1 or 2 seed because of recency bias.

I wanted to get Minnesota at home instead of 1 of those 2 games. Frustrating to only play them once since they are all home and no road win team.

Man what a rough end to the year to have to play Iowa and Illinois again.

Or they win both and become a lock for #1 eh?
