2019 Week 11 CFB Open Thread

Coaches get that late TD, get excited, and make an emotional decision to go for two.

All that work, 30 minutes of football to catch up, and you put it all on one play. It doesn't make sense to me, even on the days when a team converts it.

but that wide receiver was not the guy who was wide open. the tight end was uncovered.

Ooooooh I see what you mean then. Yeah, definitely would've liked to see him not have tunnel vision there. I think the play design there was weird too. Usually those plays have a much more obvious primary receiver and a way to get them wide open for an easy throw. That play was just flooding the short side of the field with 3 guys. Not as easy to diagnose quickly under pressure.

The odds definitely not in favor going for two. It makes a great story if it work, but there’s no logical reason unless your players are spent. Instead of basically requiring a touchdown to win it, you kick it then get 4 tries to get it in the end zone (if you want).
