2019-2020 Ohio State Men's Basketball (Official Thread)

confident in saying that through 8 games, osu goes 8-deep, whereby each of the 8 can play about as many minutes as anyone else on any given night. we'd be deeper if jallow were healthy and if ahrens hadn't lost time. moreover, especially as liddell develops, it wouldn't surprise me if any of the 8 is the leading scorer on any given night.

  • range of minutes: liddell's 16.5 to kaleb's 25.3.
  • range of points: muhammad's 7.3 to kaleb's 12.4.

in short, the balance is outstanding and astounding. since matta's first season, there is no range under 11 points when looking at the teams' full depth in meaningful games. this team's range of only 5.1 points is absolutely bonkers. sure, we are only 8 games into the season and the averages will change, but i don't foresee kaleb averaging more than 17 points while the glut of players around 7 points drop their averages. perhaps the gap widens as gaffney comes along, though you'd think that at least some of his minutes will be kaleb's. i'm assuming that the staff has set a goal to develop gaffney into a moderately trustworthy defensive player and rebounder by march.

04-05 team's range of points (butler to dials): 12.3
05-06 team's range of points (terwilliger to dials): 13.1
06-07 team's range of points (lighty to oden): 12.0
07-08 team's range of points (terwilliger to butler): 11.8
08-09 team's range of points (hill to turner): 14.1
09-10 team's range of points (madsen to turner): 17.9
10-11 team's range of points (lauderdale to sully): 13.0
11-12 team's range of points (scott to sully): 16.3
12-13 team's range of points (williams to thomas): 16.3
13-14 team's range of points (mcdonald to ross): 13.2
14-15 team's range of points (mcdonald to russell): 16.5
15-16 team's range of points (mitchell to loving): 12.0
16-17 team's range of points (andre to tate): 12.0
17-18 team's range of points (jallow to kbd): 17.3
18-19 team's range of points (jallow to kaleb): 11.7
19-20 team's range of points (muhammad to kaleb): 5.1

I still can't get over the refs calling this shot a 3. I mean the picture is dead on showing where he was when he took the shot. Both of the guy's entire feet were inside the arc when he took the shot, he just faded back and landed behind the arc after he shot it. Thankfully they adjusted it to a 2 later, but it is beyond awful to have ever called it a 3.

That was a guy from UNC taking that shot. I am surprised that they changed it:wink:

I thought I had lost my mind or my eyes when I saw the refs hands go up for 3. Never went back to look because the game kept rolling on.

That’s turrible
