I HIGHLY doubt they’d hold Ohio State’s recent performances against Clemson in year’s past against them this year. That would come across as an extremely petty reason for holding a team out.
Human beings with a bit more objectivity than to hold a loss that happened to a team TWO YEARS AGO against them..You're talking about human beings, so let's get some losses on those other teams.

Honestly, in your scenario, if any team is left out while taking resumés from THIS SEASON into account, Clemson is pretty easily the team that’s left out. The ACC is a shit show, and their non conference schedule has done them no favors. Texas A&M is their best non conference opponent, and they’ll likely end up with 4-5 losses. Alabama gets the free track record pass, Ohio State gets the nod because of their resumé, Notre Dame gets in because Notre Dame, and Georgia gets to face Alabama twice, if that’s really how they want it to go down.Your faith in humanity exceeds my own. Give me some timely losses over relying on the opinions of humans.
I think the only scenario where there's even a conversation is if Notre Dame and Clemson go undefeated and Alabama loses to Georgia, at which point it would be impossible to ignore how god awful Clemson's schedule is. Penn State and Michigan would both have to implode.I can give scenarios where they would (already have) so let's get some timely losses and remove all doubt.
