2018 Week 14 CFB Open Thread

Even if Bama gets whipped it doesn't really matter for us. It's still Clem, ND, UGA, and OU. If UGA wins then we need Pitt for sure

Matters for us in the future. Maybe I'm hopelessly naive. Maybe I'm a dreamer. Maybe I have my head wedged firmly up my own ass in a Harbaughian fashion. I just think if a 1-loss Ohio State and 1-loss Okie, both conference champions, get left out for an SEC-ACC Invitational, it might finally be the spark to get Delaney and the AD's off their asses and into the fight for a better playoff.

What's funny is: you'll buy the refs are sharing the games...... but never the coaches?

Sure, Saban is a great coach, but especially when it comes to recruiting, a strong looking SEC makes it easier for him. Look at Swinney..... "Hey, kid..... wanna play ACC football? The b-ball tickets are primo....."

If you don't think the SEC having 2 teams in the playoffs hurts tOSU recruiting, why wouldn't it?

Would Saban do it? I dunno..... I don't, but I see advantages.

When you or one of the other conspiracy theorists produces a shred of evidence to support these claims I'll take them seriously. It just seems convenient that the only time the tinfoil hats go on is when the results are not going in our favor.

And again, why would anyone invest time and energy in a sport they believed was rigged? Because if it's rigged, none of the Buckeyes accomplishments mean anything. They're just part of an elaborate stage production. I'm guessing none of you believe that, but you can't have it both ways.

Either the outcomes are manipulated or they're not. It can't just be the outcomes you don't like.

You, me and John Lennon then.

Difference being I don't think they put Bama in this year if they lose.

Honestly don't

This is EXACTLY why I say Saban had little interest in winning this game.

The free pass is there..... AND if GA gets in too, the free pass is only strengthened, the SEC TV money is strengthened, the recruiting is strengthened..... but nobody is going to say "Saban is no good" at this point.

At this point, Saban has nothing to prove, but he can help his conference, his money, and Bama by not winning.

Call it being a bitch, if you wish, but I wouldn't call it being a fool.
So play down and risk injury to your players? Tua limping already. Yeah, what Saban wanted.

One would hope so, but those efforts would be hampered by media who would be just fine with an ND, SEC, Clemson Invitational - NBC, CBS, ABC, and ESPN. They'd just call it sour grapes then provide "evidence" that the right choices were made.

You’re dreaming, but it’s a nice dream. And you’re right, Delaney and the others need to wake the fuck up.
