any game from here on out where woods plays more than ahrens, washington, or jallow is a coaching mistake.
Those plays where he helps in the paint and conveniently forgets he has a man to guard on the perimeter and ends up guarding nobody and ball watching in the paint get old really fast. Holt needs to have a lot more discipline and effort out of these guys if they are going to reach their potential. Sadly, for a 5th-year Senior to be playing like that, I don't have a lot of confidence that the attention to detail is going to suddenly improve.

Looks like 20 total wins and 10 conference wins gives us a shot at the Dance. That requires winning 7 of the last 11 games, including today (Rutgers).

Obviously, more would be better. Gonna be a challenge this year, though.

OSU is now officially at the halfway mark of regular season conference play. 10 more games for these guys to make a case for a tourney berth before the postseason.
6 wins and 1 in the tournament would probably get them into the dance but we really need 7 of these next 10 and at least 2 in the tourney to be solid.

I think 6 wins of any kind could be enough. Starting to look like they can ride a win at UC and W vs Minnesota to a tourney bid if they can just get to 20 wins overall. Get to 21 and it is practically a lock.

I want to be that optimistic but I think a goose egg in the tournament will put them firmly on the bubble, barring a win at East Lansing later this month.

Woods' ears must have been burning because then he goes and plays Rutgers in pretty much exactly the form we hoped he'd be this season.

If there is one thing that is becoming increasingly clear, there are no blanket answers for what Holtmann should do with his roster/rotation/line-ups. We have a bunch of inconsistent players. Sometimes you want the frosh to play for their development but yesterday Washington really needed benched for his lack of effort. Sometimes the seniors really help us win, like yesterday, and sometimes they don't. Sometimes Andre Wesson scores 20-plus on nearly perfect shooting against a good Purdue team and other times he is Andre Wesson. Jallow's good for about one game a month that gets you wondering about how good he could be.

Kaleb's about the only guy consistent offensively but Luther's not too far off in terms of at least being an overall net positive far more often than not. After that, yeah, I don't blame Holtmann for still being in the process of trying to figure out what's going to help this team work.

To borrow AKAK's term for describing the USMNT, Hot Mess.
But they're still my Buckeyes and I'll still pull for each one of them as long as they don't do anything to embarrass tOSU.
