CFB Weekly Thread 2017 Week 1 CFB Open Thread

I mean, you're right he's different than Saban when talking to the media, but I don't think he takes a backseat to any coach in competitiveness. I have little doubt he's just as motivated as Nick to win an NC

I don't either. I think since his "clown show" comment he's been far more guarded to the media. Saban still uses the media to deliver calculated messages to his team and fan base. Urban seems to have shied away from that a bit in recent years.

Something changed after the 2012 season was already underway, when the secondary was also a clown show and Boren was moved to LB, and well after the pink contract.

Well we got a lot better for one lol. I dunno, I don't think he's changed all that much. He straight up called the secondary terrible after the Indiana win.

Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, and the rest of the football world recruits the hell out of the state.
And? For 20 years, that was one of the top programs in the country. They consistently had high powered offenses. They have solid academics to offer. There's no reason for a program like that to spend the better part of a decade unable to field a solid offense or find a competent qb. (I see you, too, Texas)

Not sure their academics are that important. After all, the best QB Florida ever had got an 890 on his SAT and majored in home economics, not to mention that the best QB Texas has ever had is full retard.
