CFB Weekly Thread 2017 Week 1 CFB Open Thread

But Ball takes the belt based on simple volume. Four straight years as a terrible starter, and GT didn't even try to mask his deficiencies. They just continued to pass as he completed as many passes to.the opponent and bleachers as he did his own team.

Bellisari dropped back to pass 724 times in his career (about 723 more than a competent coach needed to see) with an equal 50/50,at best, chance of anything good happening for the offense.

I used to sigh in relief when the ball would just fall incomplete

I've honestly managed to block most of the '99, 2000 and 2001 (excepting The Game) from my memory. It's like they played one glorious game in those three years.

kicking Northwesterns ass in 2001 when they got a little big for their britches was a good one but yeah, The Game 2001...thank Woody for JT.

The last 2 years of Cooper were almost as bad as the first 5.

Bellisari was an All American safety playing quarterback.

It's odd. Every few years they ride their funky offense into a major bowl, then disappear for two or three years. I suspect this won't be an orange bowl season with that defense.

And Reggie Ball was the WORST quarterback I've ever seen. He was a FOUR YEAR STARTER there. He would have looked great in a clowns uniform.
Pretty sure I've written the same on here before. Has to be the worst 4 year starter in college football history. Had Calvin Johnson and manages to complete less than 50% with a 1:1 TD/INT ratio. You almost thought he was good, but he wasn't.

Found it. We all just had this same conversation a year ago. Apparently it got me a little steamed because I went on a 4 post rant. Good to be back.

You know how pretty that pass from Evan Spencer in the Sugar Bowl was? What Georgia Tech just did was pretty much the total opposite of that.

Tighter spiral than Reggie Ball ever threw though, I'll give them that. That safety will never get an easier INT in his life.

God, Reggie Ball.

I still maintain him as the worst 4 year starter in college football history. Think his TD:INT ended up like 50:60? It was awful, yet he was never supplanted. And that was with Megatron as his WR.

I had to do it. I had to look up Reggie Ball's career.

He had Calvin Johnson, one of the most physically gifted and arguably best receivers of the generation, for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 campaigns. Calvin caught 28 TDs in 3 years. Reggie got WORSE with him.

Nightmares.

This dude legitimately started 4 full years of college football. 13 games, 12 games, 11 games, 13 games. 57 TDs, 55 INTs. His average game was going 14/28 for 1 TD and 1 INT...for 4 years. Good god.

I can't even.

#ThursdayDrunk

The best passer in Ohio State history had 7,547 yards and was a 4th overall pick.

Reggie Fucking Ball had 8,128 yards.

Disgusting. The guy passed like he was a triple-option QB 2 years before Paul Johnson even arrived.

And he beat Auburn twice! :slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy::slappy:

Didnt Reggie Ball throw the ball away out of bounds on 4th down once? I Think it was against UGA.

Yes....from Wikipedia

For viewing pleasure (Chan Gailey is also an idiot for having them clock it on 3rd and 21)

The most staggering display of suck I have ever seen from a QB was in the ravens first SB when Trent Dilfer tried to throw an out and ended up putting it in the kickers net.

He wasn't throwing it away. He just missed a guy on the hash marks so badly it went into the fucking kickers net 10 yards out of bounds.

5th down Reggie :slappy:

Though I have to say, I've seen QBs do that more than one might think. Hell I remember Weeden throwing it out of the back of the end zone on the last play of the game once

Like a Reds OF watching another monster HR go over his head. Doesn't even turn around.

Stop me if you've heard this before but Florida and Tennessee are both still ranked because, well..... SEC
Tennessee I'll give a pass because at least they won and facing triple option fuckery your first time out is no joke. Florida should be nowhere near the top 25 until they actually field an offense slightly better than a Sun Belt team. Actually that might be an insult to Sun Belt teams.
