2017 College Football Playoffs (and Other Bowl Games)

In the end, we deserve to be the first 2loss team to make it, if we don't make it over another 2 loss team I would be very upset unless that other 2 loss team is Auburn winning out. Other than that, we don't deserve to be in compared to any 1 loss team, even a 1 loss team that doesn't win their conference. We lucked out for that last year, we can hardly complain if the tables are turned on us for it. We blew it on our own. I am not getting my hopes up at all for CFP, I just want to see us spank TTUN and Wisky for B10 title, after that whatever happens happens

1. Depending on scores, I don't think OSU should get in ahead of OU if they lose the Big 12 championship game. If OSU wins the next two games big and OU really shits the bed (or Mayfield gets hurt) then the OSU argument gets stronger.

2. Wiscy would be a one-loss team if they win next week and lose to OSU in the BIG CCG. Are you saying that in that scenario they should get in ahead of OSU?

The only teams that matter now are Bama, Clemson, UGA, Miami, Wisky, Auburn, and us.

We have to root for Bama the rest of the way. Unless they lose twice, they aren't going to drop behind us, and if they have 2 losses and so do we, guarantee the playoff committee is putting them in over us.

We want OU to win out for sure, easy one there, builds our SOS and even if they did lose once they would be ahead of us.

Rooting for Miami to beat Clemson, I think we would be in over Clemson with 2 losses and no conference title.

There's no way for Bama to lose 2. IF they lose to Auburn they aren't playing in the conf title game

Best case scenario for next week

1)OSU takes *Ichigan to the woodshed
2)Bama beats Auburn
3)Miami loses to Pitt
4)Clemson loses to SC
5)ND loses to Stanford

I put ND in there because, well, fuckem

Miami losing before the conf game would help because then it wouldn't matter who wins the ACC as loser is out now

An hour long CFP discussion just ended on Fox and long story short (6) picked Okla to win it all / (3) picked Auburn. But (3) Werfel/Robert Smith and one other picked the Buckeyes in the final four. (6) fools picked Wisky to win the B1G title and be in the final four.

***If*** the Buckeyes make the final four wouldn't bet against them. Hey, they already got their (31) point loss out of the way this year. :biggrin2:

btw, we need more CFP discussions ...

Oops I realize I left OU out as a team that mattered, my mistake

Agreed, unless OU loses badly, I do not think we'd deserve to get in over them.

For me on Wiscy it would depend on how badly we beat them I suppose. If Wiscy lost in a grind it out tough game to us, I still would not have much issue if the CFP put them in over us if that was their 1 loss. We lost to PSU last year, didn't even play in the B10 title game at all, and we still got in, fair is fair in that scenario. Now if we kicked the crap out of Wisky like by 30 or so then yeah even with 1 loss they should be gone. To me it would depend on how that game goes. Although honestly I get the vibe the committee would much rather put us in over Wisky, so even with 1 loss if it were to us they'd be gone I think.

That being said, we still gotta take care of our own business next week before we worry too much.

Ah true good point, my mistake on that one for Bama. Still I think they will win this week, somehow they are a team that always seems to get it done. They should lose this week, but probably won't. Sad thing is if Bama loses this week I still think it's possible they would be put in over us if we won out, even if they win this week and lose to UGA even. Basically even if Bama has 1 loss whether it comes this week or in the SEC ccg, I could see us left out over them.

Obviously this coming weekend will form things better for us for what we are looking at.

Definitely would look good for UNLV to get bowl eligible. And UNR did nothing but disappoint me in the upset pick-em, so.....

I find it interesting that a few of those guys picked OSU to get in @ that 4th spot over a 1 loss Bama in that 3rd clip (maybe with an Auburn 30+ point win.... Bama doesn't get blown out). Despite Bama's lack of resume, I just can't see that scenario happening. Without that ugly 31 point loss to Iowa? ....... possibly. Just like PSU's bad loss to Pitt and getting their doors blown off by *ichigan last year, u just can't forget that it happened.

What happened with Iowa? I forgot without a problem!

I feel like if Bama loses next week or even in the CCG they would be in over us. Essentially if they end the reg season with only 1 loss they are going to be in over us. I fully expect the committee to vote a 1 loss non SEC winner Bama in over us due to track record alone using our bad loss to Iowa and having 2 losses as their excuse to leave a conference winner out. If UGA were to win out as well same thing, I could see them being in over us for sure with 1 loss and CCG win. The best thing for us is to have Bama win this week and in SEC CCG.

The interesting scenario to me is going to be Miami and Clemson. Assuming all teams in the mix that don't play each-other before the respective CCG's wins out, this is the one I just don't know about. If Clemson beats Miami, I wonder if that would put Miami behind us or not if we won out. I'd like to say yes, but I am really not so sure since they would only have one loss. Would probably depend on how the games went. I really think Miami is the biggest pretender this year to be honest.

You would think that about Bama but I've watched about 9 different shows now and at least 6 pick Auburn to go from SEC and Bama not one of the four. So, at least there are people out there paying attention to strength of wins and schedule.

Only one change this week and thats Da U in at #2 Clemson, then OU. Wisky still #5 but a win by Auburn, themselves and they move into the Top 4. Top 4 win for the Buckeyes after demolishing michigan, might be enough. Going to be hella close no matter what.
