2017 CFB Bowl Games Open Thread

What's good for the balance of the league is if OSU loses to other big ten teams a lot more often.

Exactly.

OSU fans should hope for a JGEC (Just Good Enough Conference)

Respectable but not good enough to where the middling teams can ruin a season on a bad day.

In a perfect world for non-SEC teams you want one top 10 conference opponent, a few top 15-25 teams and a top shelf OOC opponent early every year for the perfect schedule.

There is no point in driving yourself crazy by pointing out the inconsistencies with the rules for everyone else and the rules for the SEC.

Schools are starting to use that BIG money. Feels like we might have the best coaches in all of the conferences overall. I don't think JGEC is part of the plan. The east is stacked and the west could become one terrible pain in the ass.

and to Jwins point, good for the rest of the B1G....not OSU

I'm a fan of OSU, not the B1G.

The funny thing is I came across an article on BR from Barrett Sallee about how conference bowl records are not good indicators of how good a conference is, then somebody called him out about saying the complete opposite years ago when the SEC was dominating bowl games. (He later said he never said that back then, not sure of the truth to that statement) Guy is an SEC writer/homer anyway.

The B1G is the best and deepest conference this year - and it's not even close. I don't really think anyone is even arguing that truth.

Now, the dumpster fire that is the PAC-12, that is the flip side if B1G excellence. That is an epic fail for a supposed power conference.

Was looking into the standings at the B1G had what like 5 10 win teams this year? and the middle of the pack were no slouches in Iowa, scum(defensively), and Purdue. Really like the way the competition is heading with the coaches coming in over the last few years. UFM, Chryst, Franklin, Dantonio, Frost, Brohm are all some of the best in the country. Ferrentz pulls a good season every few years and Jimbo is overhyped as the next Bear Bryant. Hope Purdue can keep ahold of Brohm for a few years and bring Purdue back to relevance and Ash can get something going at Rutgers. Love seeing the B1G competitive again.
