2017 CFB Bowl Games Open Thread

Couldn’t find the FSU thread but

Guess they weren’t bowl eligible and Reddit busted them

So the school, conference, and NCAA themselves got outworked by Reddit users?

So I've been following the Florida State eligibility issue on r/cfb. It was mostly the work of one user (mod) of the subreddit, with advice from the other mods. It took quite a bit of work involving mostly seeking information from Delaware State.

Something I found interesting was that someone in the main thread posting the results of the investigation asked a simple question: what about the true eligibility of the three "bowl eligible" teams left out of the bowls? It turns out each of them played FCS schools that also don't likely satisfy the requirements for an FCS team to lend its sacrificial loss towards a team's record for bowl eligibility.

So in then end, not much of this really would have changed anything. . .

Considering that they ended up rescheduling that cupcake game they had earlier canceled due to ... Irma? it's pretty funny to learn it didn't really matter ... the couldn't become bowl eligible. Still, they did get extra practice (and fuck did they need it) and all that ... ummm.. .. whatever bowl swag
