Absolutely atrocious defense by Maryland on the last play--they don't cover the inbounder and they let scUM throw the ball three quarters of the way down the floor, setting up an easy run at the hoop. And of course the Maryland defender has his back to the game, allowing the scUM player to make an easy catch of the ball. Just awful all the way around by Maryland, allowing scUM to pull off the improbable finish.

the maryland basketball program has been a good addition. in their 3 b1g completed seasons, they've finished in the top 3 each time, have been to the tournament each time, played in 6 tournament games, and twice finished the season ranked while being 5th, 7th, and 25th in attendance. this season is a bit underwhelming for the terrapins and it's not as though any of the previous 3 seasons were great, but their recruiting for 2017, 2018, and 2019 is more than solid enough to be good for the next 5 years.
