Olympic gold medalist racks up massive data charges playing 'Pokemon Go' in Rio

Six-time world champion gymnast Kohei Uchimura found out the hard way that playing "Pokemon Go" can be an expensive habit.
The reigning men's all-around gold medalist is in Rio de Janeiro for the upcoming Olympics but apparently didn't restructure his data plan before he left. According to the AP, Uchimura racked up a bill of nearly $5,000, mostly by playing the uber-popular mobile game.
Luckily, his carrier service was understanding and reduced his bill to a $30-per-day unlimited data contract while he's abroad. Apparently Japanese providers are much more cooperative than their American counterparts.
