Statement from the U.S. Olympic Committee
According to four members of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team (Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, Jimmy Feigen and Ryan Lochte), they left France House early Sunday morning in a taxi headed for the Olympic Village. Their taxi was stopped by individuals posing as armed police officers who demanded the athletes’ money and other personal belongings. All four athletes are safe and cooperating with authorities.

This Quarterfinal Women's beach volleyball matchup between the Brazilian 1 seeded team and the Swiss 17 seeded team is crazy. Switzerland had them on the ropes in set 2, but allowed Brazil to win the set. Going to the final set now.

Locals down there pick and chose their targets. All the Olympians should have had a "threat brief" prior to going to Rio. They are lucky they didn't get hurt. Most people do not have a good grasp on the socio-economic situation in that region of the continent. Very bad. So any "out-of-towner" is a target.
